To amend the Gun Control Act of 2017

Be it enacted in both Houses of Congress Assembled,



The Gun Control Act of 2017 shall be amended as follows:

The Gun Control Act of 2017
Section I (The Purpose). The purpose is to ensure that guns across the Republic of Atlasia don't get sold to the wrong hands.
Section II (Permission to sell).
The only individuals that are allowed to sell or purchase any form of firearm have to meet all of the following criteria:
-Must be 18 years or older
-Must not have a history of violent crimes
Section III (Regional Jurisdiction)
1. The Regional Governments shall exercise primary jurisdiction in incorporating and defining the regulation and enforcement of this Act into their criminal statutes, under the following provisions:
    a. There shall be a minimum sentencing period of six (6) months for any person or persons found to be in violation of the Act;
    b. There shall be a fine of at least $1,000 and not greater than $10,000 to any person, persons, or business found to have violated any part of this Act.



Individuals shall be permitted to sell firearms if they own a state license permitting them to do so, which shall include the cardholder's full name, gender, photograph, identification number, and state and city of residence.  Unlicensed firearm sales between non-family, as well as unlicensed sales which take place either online or at firearm shows and fairs, shall be prohibited, except under the following circumstances:


(A) the sale of a firearm that will be used for employment-related duties by a law enforcement officer, armed private security professional, or member of the armed forces;

(B) the sale of a firearm that is necessary to prevent harm to self, family, household members, or others from domestic violence, dating partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, and domestic abuse

This bill was very severely amended in the House, please read it carefully before casting your votes as it is not at all similar to the previous bill. Anyway, Senators have 72 hours to vote Aye, Nay or Abstain.
