If Sanders gets the nomination and defeats Trump, it will prove the electability of “justice Democrats”, and perceived electability will help them to win Congressional primaries. If Sanders is is defeated in the primaries or the general election, then “justice Democrats” will be perceived as unelectable, hurting them in Congressional primaries.

AOC will be the front-runmer in 2024, even if Trump beats Sanders in November.

A Sanders loss to Trump in the GE would be a tremendous setback to progressives, but even if it happens, we're not going away.  We will continue to recruit candidates for Congress and for president and say mean things to boomers on Twitter.

As is your right. I certainly would like for diversity of opinion and ideas in the party to persist.

AOC is...not even eligible for the Presidency in 2024?

A presidential candidate is constitutionally required to be 35 years old on the day they swear their oath of office and officially graduate from President-Elect to POTUS in mid-to-late January. AOC will have been 35 years old for just over 3 months on that day in January 2025.

Oh, okay.
I still don't think she'd be frontrunner but at least she'd be eligible.

Well, now they won't need to worry about it, because Trump is still going to be president next year and we'll most likely have lost the House, too.
