Agreed about the partisan impeachment issue being a non-starter. Polls have consistently showed a plurality now okay with impeach AND remove. That includes a lot of independents a few of Republicans. However, it rarely gets brought up that that's a thing.

If this were 1974, Trump would be on his way out the door by this point, and Republicans probably would have already convinced him to resign. But we are much more polarized. A good example of this is his approval ratings, which remain in the 40-45% range that they've typically been in throughout his Presidency. By the time Nixon resigned, his approvals were in the 20s, much lower than what Trump's are.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

I want whatever this guy is smoking lol

Doung Jones has been 100 percent behind his party when it comes to impeachment witness. at no point has the GOP came close to convincing him to vote against having witnesses at a trial

even Manschin has said he want to here from Jon Bolton and so does Sinema

sure they may all vote to acquit but I don't not think a single 1 of them will vote to stop Jon Bolton from testifying at the trial

At this point, I'd almost rather they didn't call witnesses.

The Banana Republicans are going to violate their oaths and betray the Constitution and our Republic anyway, so I'd rather they make themselves look as bad as possible while doing so. MoscowMitch's Senate "acquitting" Don the Con with no witnesses, no evidence, and no investigation would definitely help discredit the GOP even further.

You seem to be confused.

The nation is almost perfectly split in this question and it is kind of definition of "partisan impeachment" Democrats were talking about. Like Dems said back then it would be very divisive for US.

Missed who asked this, but first Dem question is about letting Schiff emphasize need for witnesses.

Schiff utilizing an interesting tactic that I hadn't considered: using a small portion of his time to address the previously-asked question.

BREAKING: Exiting a morning meeting on Wednesday, Senate Republicans said it was clear they have the votes to block calling any witnesses in President Trump's impeachment trial. A vote won't take place until Friday, however.
