President Donald J. Trump Sr endorses his son for President of the United States

Stranger things have happened in politics, from the Republicans stunningly holding the Senate in 2022, his flurry of angry tweets directed at the Vice President and the riots in both the United States and Mexico over his wall... And these were only in the last few months. But that doesn't take away from this moment.

With the full Trump machine behind him, the President's son has launched his Presidential campaign with a full endorsement from his father, who has announced he will actively campaign for his son. Trump Jr. has taken all of the senior Trump's branding, even using the same slogans, like "Make America Great again" and primarily "Keep America Great". This endorsement and active campaigning from the father right out of the gate may make this primary season pretty boring. Trump Jr. starts off with a huge lead in the polls, with Mike Pence trailing by a huge margin, with many speculating he won't even run for the Presidency after the administration cast him aside post-midterms. The only person Trumpier than the President is Donald Trump Jr, who has delighted trolling Democrats on Twitter for years, and has translated his internet rhetoric in to real life. He's a new Trump for a new era.

Is this the new American royalty? How did we get here?

...

Republican Primary Polling, 2024 Election
Donald J. Trump Jr - 61%
Vice President Mike Pence - (unannounced) 18%
The Field - 14%

"Welcome back to CNN, and we have news. Donald Trump has won the state of Wisconsin, meaning that Donald Trump will win a second term in the White House. Donald Trump has surpassed 270 electoral votes with this win in Wisconsin, and he seems likely to surpass his 2016 win, defeating Bernie Sanders"

(Light Blue = Republican Gain)

Pres. Donald J. Trump/Vice Pres. Mike Pence (R) - 326 Electoral Votes
Sen. Bernard Sanders/Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) - 212 Electoral Votes

As the results trickled in, Donald was battling with Ivanka for his father's attention - like two young children. Both had one thing in their minds as the results were showing an even bigger win than last time, this time. Their turn. Not with the toy, but with the White House. Mike Pence was sitting in the corner, like the forgotten middle child. Nevermind Eric.

Many had talked about a civil war in the Republican Party in the coming years, between the Trumpist wing and the more traditional, more moderate wing. In a way, that looks to be coming true. But it's looking more like a family dispute - Trump Jr representing a direct continuation of his father, if not even more provocative. His sister representing a more moderate, if not slightly liberal, wing of the party. Ivanka had always been the favourite, however as time went on, his father began to warm to the idea of Junior inheriting his legacy. He had always been more like him.

The stage has been set for the Republican Party civil war. Two siblings vying for the attention of their father.

Rebuilding the Party

Joe sat, deep in reflection as the results came in. He had been taken in a progressive tidal wave during the Democratic Primaries - Losing Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and then being unable to close the gap during Super Tuesday. But tonight, it looked like he had been vindicated. The country rejected socialism - and the result was four more years of President Trump, and an embarrassment for the Senator from Vermont.

As Joe watched Trump quickly surpass 270 electoral votes, he took solace in the fact that the moderates would become the majority of the party once again - this defeat would be too humiliating for the AOC wing of the party to retain control, or at least that's what he hoped. The 2024 nominee; and next president; would be one of his own - a newly-elected Senator Joe Kennedy, or a Pete Buttigieg.

He also wondered what was next for the Republicans. They would surely lose the Senate in 2022, and Trump would get nothing done. Hopefully after Trump's approvals collapse, they nominated somebody respectable like Nikki Haley. But Joe wasn't stupid, he knew the Trump children were manoeuvring. Along with Cruz, DeSantis, and the rest. The next four years would be a wild ride.

Democratic Primary Polling Average - 2024 Nomination, Nov 29, 2020
Pete Buttigieg - 13%
Joe Kennedy - 7%
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez - 7%
Kamala Harris - 5%
The rest - 3%
Undecided - 65%
