“Other” won Alachua County, Florida, Appling County, Georgia, and Long County, Georgia.

“Other” won Alachua County, Florida, Appling County, Georgia, and Long County, Georgia.

Giving it my best guess, Protestant/Dry voters who didn't support Catholic/Wet Al Smith. In my search, I found that Alachua county didn't vote for SJC in his 1916 gubernatorial run. Appling and Long are not Dry counties anymore, but my best guess is they were pockets of anti-papist in the areas.
