Clinton should give it a rest. I'll grant that there are plenty of toxic Bernie supporters online, but the candidate himself is fine, and he's not that different from all the other Democrats. The focus needs to 100% be on beating Trump, and all of this petty fighting between Democrats and relitigating of 2016 is harmful to that. In this case it was Hillary who started it, so she is in the wrong.

Democrats need to stop attacking each other, and refocus their energy against the mighty Sauron.

This really only helps Trump and gives him more ammunition to fuel his massive media following.

I'll note that this thread has like 100+ replies and I can't find any posts disputing the actual substance of what Hillary said:

A) Sanders has (virtually) no friends in the Senate, and never has

B) He's never accomplished anything of note

C) He is a "career politician"

Instead it's six pages of "shut your f***ing mouth, bitch, you lost and everyone hates you."

I see you missed my reply on the first page which has 9 recommendations

"Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done," Clinton told the Hollywood Reporter as a part of the upcoming Hulu documentary on the former secretary of state. "He was a career politician. It's all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it."

I see no lies here.

He's part of the Senate Democratic Caucus leadership team and was chairman of the Veteran's Affairs Committee where he worked with John McCain to co-author a bill on veteran's health, so it's obviously untrue that no-one likes Sanders or wants to work with him. Clinton is projecting her own feelings onto Sanders' colleagues in the Senate with whom he gets on fairly well.

That story just has people saying they're impressed with his campaign.  None of them endorsed him except his Vermont co-senator.

The one-page VA bill was addressed above.

Actually Leahy endorsed Clinton. It was Jeff Merkley who endorsed Sanders.

Oh I was talking about this cycle.  Basically this article has a handful of senators saying nice things about him in 2017 or whenever, but none of them actually endorsed him in 2020.

Surprised Leahy endorsed Clinton in 2016, must have been early because usually senators automatically get the endorsement of their other state senator (assuming same party).

Some of the divisions evident in this thread, if translated to the general election, could aid in handing Trump another term. We have some posters on here who continue to savage Sanders, and consider him to be someone who is just as bad as their true enemy-the man currently occupying the White House. And we have others defending Sanders from those attacks. I don't think many on here understand the importance of party unity for the Democrats this year. Without party unity, it will be more difficult for Democrats to hand the electoral rebuke which he deserves.

If anyone was paying attention, Hillary tweeted:

So, like, can we all settle down and focus on the important stuff.

No ****. If you thought Hillary was #NeverBernie, you were delusional or lying to yourself.

Bernie should be ashamed for 2016. Full stop.
But Clinton should let go of the past and do what is good for the country and not stir the pot as an influential public figure.
If the stakes weren’t so high, her behavior would be justified, but we can’t afford retribution right now. Our country is at risk right now, and any damage done with four more years of Trump will take decades to fully reverse.

Tbh Clinton should have either let all her anger against Bernie out in 2017 (as an “I told you so” to his supporters who voted third party) or not said anything at all. This was an emotionally charged decision when we can’t have those.

Yes, he should be ashamed of running for president against Hillary. How dare he sayanything negative.

Wow, the senators whose campaign funds were paid for by the Clinton Foundation, and who all owed favors to Bill, decided to back Hillary Clinton in the election instead of Bernie Sanders! What an irrefutable condemnation of Bernard's character.

The double standards here are amazing...

Bernie ran a kamikaze smear campaign against Hillary.  He should be ashamed of himself.

Hillary was the kamikaze pilot of her own campaign.  You should be ashamed for allowing her to take down your own party with her egocentric "I'm with her" campaign.  Her campaign should have been her assurance that "she's with us".

The only double standard is that you claim to be a part of the "democratic" party, and you're pissed off that the 2016 primary was a democratic vote instead of a coronation.  I'm sorry the democratic process hurt your queen's ascension to the oval office.  Everyone should have just accepted her nomination instead of exposing her scummy record and lack of character and good nature.

We're literally in the 4th year of a crazy right-wing Republican President, and the loser from last time is determined to remind everyone repeatedly of exactly why she lost.

Warren and Sanders do talk about Socialism and get plenty of campaign donations.  I havent seen any Sanders or Warren commercials but plenty of Biden, Trump and Bloomberg commercials. It's only goes so far, when you dont run ads, here in Cali, the candidate who wins Cali will win the nomination

You mean because Bernie bros were saying that there is no difference between her and Trump and sat on their hands?

He should be ashamed for letting his campaign surrogates saying that black voters don't matter and embracing conspiracy theories about "rigged primaries".

I see Clinton is still trying to play the "online harassment" martyr card. Does anyone else recall the "Hillary Bros" and how they acted online? You may have  never heard of them, but I sure still remember them.

That seems to be true this cycle, except Harris wasn't endorsed by Feinstein (she endorsed Biden) and Gillibrand wasn't endorsed by Schumer (but I'm guessing Senate party leaders don't endorse). Leahy, Markey, Smith, and (formerly) Menendez have all endorsed their Senate partners.

Sanders campaigned for her after she got the nomination, and she stabs him like this?

As for the deplorble comment she made here is the thing: In politics you never attack a politicians supporters ever! If she wanted to call Trump a deplorable good for her, but once you start blaming his supporters why would they ever toss a vote for you?

That must be a new thing since Republicans have been constantly belittling and ridiculing Democratic voters for half a century now.

Look at y'all acting like she came out and gave a speech on this or something.

They're making a movie about her.  They did an interview with her for it and asked her the question and she gave an honest answer.  So why blame her for the timing.
The left is always defending Hillary no matter what she says.

Jesus f***ing Christ, people, the 2016 primary fight was 4 years ago.  Why do any of you still care about re-litigating the stupid thing?  If you think Bernie got screwed, fine.  He’s got a real shot this year, so focus on winning over undecided/persuadable primary voters by making a positive case for Bernie.  Complaining about 2016 just makes Berniecrats sound like sore losers championing yesterday’s man.  Think Bernie is a self-righteous crank who lost fair and square?  Great, focus on trying to make a positive case for your preferred candidate because whining about 2016 will do nothing but reopen old wounds for no reason.

Seriously, who even cares about the 2016 primaries anymore?  Bernie lost the nomination, Hillary lost the GE, and that’s that; blame or don’t blame whoever you want.  It happened and now it is what it is.  It’ll be hard enough for whoever gets nominated - be it Bernie, Pete, Biden, Warren, Bloomberg, or Klobouchar - without everyone getting in meaningless arguments about 2016.  /RantOver

Note: This isn’t directed at any particular poster or side.
