AOC vs. MCC

She's getting a lot of support from MAGA twitter despite running as a Democrat... I smell a GOP ratf***ing.

I despise Ocasio-Cortez, but unfortunately she will win reelection. The field is too divided for the opposition to have a chance at upsetting her.

Good for her. At the very least, the anti-AOC Dems here won't be backing a supporter of gay genocide anymore.

Maybe not.  AOC helped kill an Amazon placing its headquarters in her district.  Not everyone thought that a good thing.

AOC has lots of intra-party opposition in NYC.  And all of her Democratic opponents can run as the candidate of other minor parties.  A Democrat could run as the Independence Party candidate, or the Green Party candidate, or the SAM (Serve America Movement) candidate, or the Working Families Party candidate and appear on NY's ballot on more than one line.  If the primary loser is high profile enough, they can run an active campaign in the fall election and it can function in places like AOC's district as a de facto non-partisan election.  Indeed, Joe Crowley could have done this in 2018 after losing the primary, and he may have prevailed, but Crowley was also Queens Democratic Party Chair, so that wasn't something that could be easily done.

AOC is very vulnerable.  And she's vulnerable in 2022 if she prevails this year, due to NY losing CDs.

Nice try but AOC isn't going anywhere. She is a total rock star who is a perfect fit for her district. I actually thing she could primary Schumer the same way she did Crowley.

If Ocasio-Cortez did that, she would definitely be helping to push the Party to the left.
