Maybe he'll be a viable Senate candidate in the future.  Oklahoma really needs representation that really cares about their constituents--luckily, it IS one red (blue for us, I guess) state where Democrats are REGULARLY elected--unlike Ohio and New Hampshire (prior to 2004, but still with two out of the 11 senators that never co-sponsored the lynching apology).
My prediction:  Henry will break 60%.

But will he have any coattails in the State House elections?

No matter how popular Henry might be, barring an Istook major scandal or a herrendously horrible candidate, I think Henry can't break 57 or 58%.

I anticipate Istook's withdrawl from the race.

I like the thought of a President Henry.

Not sure why.

I'd definitely like to see Henry run for Senator in the future. At the very least he'd make the race pretty close.

And it was. I still think he would have beaten Humphreys.

The sad thing is that moderate Republican candidates like Humphreys (or Corker in TN, Foley in FL) often have a much more difficult time in general elections in some southern states.  Humphreys would have been the best possible Senator for Oklahoma, but would have faced a more difficult general than Coburn did.

Henry wouldn't win in a presidential year, but if he runs in 2010 who knows?

Oh yes. (Not sure if it's true in Florida; might depend on the opposition.)
