Are the millennial the entitled generation? They seem to believe it's their right to ask for a lot of things before they actually even join the workforce.

I'm a millennial and I feel entitled sometimes.

Can't be entitled if you're locked out of the workforce, saddled with debt everyone told you to take on Boomer.

I might be wrong but I think Texas was 25 points closer than California was last time. I also love in a swing House seat and state senate district. 😉

Some of them obviously are in a such mode and think they should get everything for free, now don’t generalise either, not all millennials are lazy socialists.

Millenials are now mid-20's and over. It's Gen Z that's just starting out (like me). And also, I'm not sure what you mean when you say "even join the workforce". Most people have jobs. I do, a lot of people just don't have ideal jobs.

This kind of attitude that so many boomers (not saying you're a boomer) have is why young people are voting for Bernie Sanders in overwhelming numbers. The truth is that boomers have no idea the financial struggles people in their 20's and 30's face today because it doesn't even compare to when they were in their 20's and 30's. Housing, healthcare costs, student debt, and far less wealth as a generation (adjusted for inflation/time period). People have this attitude like you just have to work harder to overcome some of the obstacles faced when starting out, but the truth is it is Millenials and gen Z have it far worse than boomers did financially, even as technology and the internet has generally improved the quality of life.

Are some people lazy? Do some people have very bad spending habits? Yes, I know of such people, but this is the kind of sh**t that pisses off a lot of struggling young people.

Entering the workforce? The youngest millennial is now 23. The vast majority is now in the workforce.

EXACTLY this. I'm so done with this BS.

Oh, we're so entitled. All we want is quality jobs, a home, and the financial opportunity to start a family.

Oh WOE is us. Why are we so entitled??

Get outta here with that. Unamused

Because they have been given participation trophies their whole life, and now they think that they are entitled to getting $200k+ of debt forgiven because they picked a got a useless gender studies degree in college.

No, that would be Boomers.

The difference between a Boomer and a millennial?

Answer:  the millennial wants welfare to be paid for.  While Boomers want their handouts and government cheese for free.

"Welfare for me, but none for thee!"  - Boomer/GOP battle cry.

You realize that less than 1/3 of millenials attended a four-year university when they were college-age, right?

Life was much more feasible to navigate in the era of the one income household. Now we have tens of thousands of unmarried people sprawled out alone.

They are not entitled. But cultural changes driven by them deserve some of them even if structural factors are the greatest cause.

Why is it, in this thread, it's mainly agreed by Biden supporters & moderates?

Let me guess, cause of Bernie?

Why not ask "Are Hispanics the 'entitled' demographic?" as well

I see only one Biden supporter and some Republicans agreeing with the premise, and a bunch of known Biden supporters pushing back. The victim complex among some Sanders supporters is real.

A big problem is rematriculation.  More than 40 percent of graduating high school seniors immediately enrolled in 4 year universities in 2017; when they end up racking up freshman debt and then not ever completing their degrees, they can get royally f[inks]ed when it comes to loan repayment.

https://nces.ed.gov/programs/coe/indicator_cpa.asp

Of course, this is only happening because the Feds are over-involved in the lending process.  Private banks would never lend out $40k to an 18 year old to attend an out-of-state or private 4-year institution without knowing whether or not he'll come back sophomore year.
