Let's say a state-level or federal assault weapons ban makes it to SCOTUS, and they overturn it based on the 2nd Amendment and that such rifles are included in Heller.  

How do Democrats proceed on gun policy, especially in light of their gains with suburban voters?  

I'm surprised that hasn't been a question at Democratic debates, ESPECIALLY considering Kavanaugh's and Gorsuch's elevations to the High Court.
