Still Munich. I rarely go to the movies.

I never go, unless it's with other people.  I wait for the dvd.

Yeah, seeing a movie by yourself seems like too big a hassle for something you can just rent a few months later and watch in the comfort of your own home, which is exactly what I did last night, as I watched Good Night and Good Luck, finally pushing Munich out of the "last movie I've seen" spot.

I just yesterday saw Ice Age: The Meltdown on opening night.  It was fantastic; I highly recommend it to anyone who likes animated movies.

Yep, I second that. I took the wife and two children yesterday. Great movie.

Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde.

On TV. Not great, but a reasonable time-passer.

In Theaters- Brokeback Mountain (I care about it more as a gay rights event than as a movie, which is something most people wouldn't understand). Still, it was the best movie of 2005. March of the Penguins was G-rated pablum that belongs on TV, and Wedding Crashers was far less funny than I was led to believe.

On Video/DVD: Sin City- Didn't Like It

Out of Africa: A Good Oscar Winner from 1985. It made me nostalgic for the days of colonialism.

I agree. The Swedish voice over wasn't very good, unfortunately, but as a movie it was great. Stunning.

Stunning? It was a documentary on penguins. It should have been aired on Discovery or National Geographic.

If Michael "Pork Chop Ass" Moore gets to put his fictional sh*t on the big screen, then certainly an excellent flick about penguins deserves no less, no?

You're aware that documentaries get aired on cinemas regularly? It's better than a lot of other crap movies. Tongue

If you don't want to see a documentary on penguins, you can always not go to the theatre it's being shown in.

I thought that it was a marvellous movie.  So what if it didn't have any humans in it?  The real-world story that the penguins went through in March of the Penguins was better than a lot of stories written specifically for a movie.  Plus, it had a bunch of cute pictures of animals.  Anyone who doesn't appreciate cute animals has no soul.

Also, the soundtrack was absolutely gorgeous; I immediately knew I wanted to buy it the moment I left the theatre.

Thats exactly how I feel. Yes its amazing how the parents care for their young, walk a hundred miles in blizzards, etc. But it seemed to be made for children primarily, and wasn't worth a full ticket price. I only saw it b/c my friend wouldn't see 40 Year Old Virgin instead.

If you even try to compare it to the original, I'll hire someone to fly to Victoria to yell at you.

"Victim", a film set in 1950s Britain about extortionists threatening homosexual men (it was still illegal there back then). Quite a good film, I recommend andy and chris watch it just to see how far Britain's come.

See, not everything I watch is drivel Cheesy

Thank You for Smoking, clever film that makes very good points. If you're expecting a laugh-out loud, laugh a minute film, this one isn't for you; the humor is subdued which is effective.

You all would like it, I think, especially some of the libertarians Wink .
