Little Miss Sunshine. Yeah, it's finally showing here. (FYI - it got an "ages 6 & up" rating here. Tongue )

The Seventh Seal, in Swedish with English subtitles.

Oh, what did you think? (kudos for not watching a dubbed version!)
THey weren't showing a dubbed version.

Infernal Affairs

F***ing awesome. Now for the prequel.
Watching the remake is filed under "things I'll do with my mom this Christmas".

Domino

I actually threw up. Seriously, it's that bad.
This movie came out years too late... the whole style is so 1990s... what the hell made you throw up, though?

What's Eating Gilbert Grape?

Technically doesn't count as I've seen it before - but that was over ten years ago. I wasn't even aware that Di Caprio is in it.

The last king of Scotland. Impressive performances by all the main cast, especially Forest Whittaker who basically owns all in his performance as mad genodical dictator Idi Amin. My only real complaint here would be the last 30 minutes (and the "Abortion" subplot) some would detract from Realism, before that the situation seemed somewhat plausible.
I saw an ad for it, and there was Idi Amin (already identified as such), and I sort of went "Wait - that's Forrest Whittaker!"

Di Caprio was in it? I've seen it prolly 2-3 times but that was before Di Caprio became famous.

Funny thing. I had intended to watch the Real vs Bayern match to find, to my utmost surprise, that it wasn't available on free tv (they'll show Barca vs Liverpool tomorrow instead. I guess that tells you all about how deep in crisis Bayern are right now.) But as I already was plunked in front of my mom's television, I watched Four Weddings And A Funeral instead - movie I'd actually decided spontaneously that I did't really want to see it, while waiting in line to buy tickets, back when it was new.
Cute, but meaningless.
Or the other way round.

The Departed

Very very good, but if I'm honest, not quite as good as the HK original (which was very very very good).
haven't  seen it (yet). Sad

IIRC the Hollywood scriptwriter made a point of NOT seeing the original (though he had, needless to say, read the script.)

Return of the King. Showed on tv over easter.

Yeah, not as bad as part two, but worse than part one. Just as everybody told me it'd be.

Zodiac. Anybody else seen that? I liked it.

Saw it on Friday. I like David Fincher's films generally: Se7en; Fight Club; and especially The Game.

I thought it was good, not great.

I thought it dragged a bit at 2 and a half hours; and the payoff wasn't greatly satisfying (it being based on a true story I'm not sure what they could have done to satisfy me here). Gyllenhaal was good, I'm never sure what to make of Downey Jr. Some nice dialogue too. Worth watching, but below my expectations for a Fincher film.
Fight Club is just extremely great (although I saw the film long before I knew the book). Seven is good too, but overrated actually. I never found the end particularly convincing. Not seen The Game.

I didn't feel dragged, but then 2 and a half hours is still within my attention span for movies, always has been.

Kids.

Found it pretty boring actually. Plus as far fetched as Ken Park was, this is even moreso.
Boring!?
Kiddo, you've just committed sacrilege.

Farfetched, I´ll grant you that one.

Didn't know about the book...must look that up.

Really? Credibility wise, it's the Sloth scene which I think pushes the limits the most...
Eh... different definition of credibility.

What's the sin behind the sixth murder again?

Black Snake Moan.

What happened to Christina Ricci's body? Huh

Weird storyline, very entertaining acting.

Death Proof.

I loved it, actually. I can see how cutting it by 23 minutes, almost all of that dialogue, might have completely ruined it, though.

I believe the European showings do have the trailers, the ones Tarantino directed are with Death Proof, while the ones Rodriguez directed are with Planet Terror. Apparentely that's how they'll be with the DVD release in the US (they're going to be split Sad )

I also bet that six months later there'll be some special edition with both of them.
Nope. We got cheated out of the trailers. But then you got cheated out of the lap dance and apparently about 15 minutes of dialogue, so we're more than even.

And I would very much like to share your bet. Might be just four months.

You're not alone, Red:
The Girl Next Door

I was surprised how much I actually liked it.  I'd seen it before, but just decided to watch it again the other night.  One of the better movies in my dvd collection.
