"America, America" by Elia Kazan.

I was really moved, especially because our current economic circumstances are causing a new wave of immigration.

One of the better versions I've seen so far.

I liked it too.  Certain aspects, I felt like were rushed together.  Particularly the ending.

Robin Hood.  Although the ending seemed like they were trying to cram it into not being a 3 hour movie.

So it's much better than the critics are saying?

No, it's really really not...

The first half was ok, from there on it kept getting worse and worse.

Brooklyn's Finest: this is a film which got bad reviews but was actually really good I thought. The final shot is kind of annoying and the dialogue wasn't the most amazing but it was pretty well done overall.

True.  Seriously.  The whole post final battle part of the movie seemed very poorly put together.  Perhaps the dvd/bluray will have the directors cut like Kingdom of Heaven (The directors cut is actually a good movie).

Edge of Darkness: I expected it to be a lot worse than it was; it actually turned out to be pretty entertaining, and Mel Gibson did a fine job.

Green Zone: The first hour was great, and then it became totally lame and not worthwhile. It was a huge wasted opportunity given that they had a good cast, good acting, and it looked good.

In the Loop: funny in some parts, not great but it held my interest. Can't say that about a lot of other films recently.

The Men Who Stare at Goats: better than expected, but too short and there wasn't a lot of meat to the story. It was fun though, worth the download.

How many f bombs would you estimate it had?

I saw last night "Kick-Ass". Contrary to others, I had no problem with Chloe Moretz shooting and stabbing bad guys or being beaten to a pulp.

OTOH, I thought there were instances where the copious gore and the sadistic violence seemed completely out of place, considering the fact that the movie was clearly intended to be a comedy/satire. It was a jarring change of tone which I found confusing and unnecessary.

Overall, a good movie but with some cringe-worthy spots.

No, that stuff was exactly the point.

Hmm, I'm kind of immune to swearing to the point where I don't notice it, but I can't say it was that many. The two Scottish guys seemed like they swore quite a bit, but other than that I don't think there was much vulgarity at all.

EDIT: wow I looked it up on IMDB, 135 F words. I really got that one wrong...

Shrek: The Final Chapter - Wow.  This movie was absolutely amazing.  It was nothing but laughs from start to finish, and a really great way to finish the series.  I loved it.

Cannibal Holocaust (1980)

Pretty brutal. I wish real animals weren't killed in this. Other than that, pretty good.

Probably not any time soon. This one is performing pretty poorly (in terms of its box office).
