It's one of my favorite films. It's a combination of everything, coming-of-age films, romance, comedy, war drama all into one awesome mix. Total Recall was great obviously, but I would call it Verhoeven's best film. A shame it had to have that awful direct-to-video sequel.

Anyone else seen Children of Men? I thought the cinematography style was absolutely brilliant.

I honestly just can't stand Casper Van Dien. Worst actor ever. That was probably the point, but still.

Yeah, I loved Children of Men. The whole eight minute sequence near the end with no cuts was pretty f'ing awesome. Michael Bay could learn a thing or two from Children of Men's cinematography.

Hannibal Rising, pretty damn bad. Once they threw the Samurai thing in, it was dead.

I just saw Catch and Release.... Horrid, horrid little movie. Gad. Makes you hate the characters you like makes you like the characters you're supposed to hate and in the end you just overall hat the film.

Sunshine

I liked how it was filmed, the visuals, some of the acting, and the music. The actual plot was farfetched and confusing at times.

Pan's Labyrinth.

The first hour dragged a little, but the ending more than made up for it. Awesome film.

I also thought Children of Men was very good. Starship Troopers didn't make much of an impression.

Flying High

It was one of the funniest films I've ever seen. Leslie Nielsen is so funny in Flying High. Especially when he says, And Don't call me Shirley!

Watched The Alps last Friday at OMSI. Amazing, but that's to be expected with IMAX; I suspect it would only be mildly entertaining at home or even in a standard theatre.

I still don't know anything about existentialist philosophy, but I enjoyed this nevertheless.

Man of the Year

I thought it was okay, with Robin Williams staring as a comedian called Tom Dobbs who decides to run for the Presidency of the United States. And somehow wins.

A question I'd like to ask you all, Is it possible to win the Presidency with 13 states? In the film the said Dobbs won, Arizona, North Carolina, Florida, New York, Texas and a few others I think.

Bourne Ultimatum

I liked it, except for the anticlimatic ending.

I just finished watching "The Number 23" and I was impressed. Pretty good flick, although it has strong sexual content, violence and swearing...and is not for children.

By the way...after making this post...I went into the kitchen and the clock said 12:11am. 12+11=23. Freaky HAHA

That's probably why it was R for violence, disturbing images, sexuality and language.

The Bourne Ultimatum
Great movie, except for Julia Stiles don't care for her much, but other than that a great movie. I thought the first was fantastic and then the second one disappointed me but this one redeemed the series and sets the stage for what will hopefully be The Bourne Legacy, the 4th book in the Bourne series. I just hope they can go back to the original director of the Bourne Identity since that was the best and 2 and 3 have suffered from the stupid shaky camera treatment in both films.

Weird Science

Boy was that a pretty bad film. Especially when Anthony Michael Hall was a nerd...

I think there's another book, which could be why it ended like that since they could make another movie.

Boondock Saints

Not what I expected. I thought it'd be a Tarantino-style flick. Instead it was just a stupid far too over the top comedy with lots of blood.

Lilo and Stitch

I was just flipping the channels out of boredom, and found it running. I was so bored, I saw no reason not to watch it. Don't watch movies that often, for the matter.

Little Miss Sunshine
Watched it for the first time since seeing it in the cinema. I still rate it very highly. Some great comedy moments.

are we counting stuff that comes on Showtime very late at night?  a couple of nights ago I caught "Edmond."  One of several movies I've seen which features William H. Macy fully nude.  I guess he has a nice ass.  Anyway, it was extremely disturbing.  I guess the murder, paranoia, and violent language didn't bother me, but the prison rape really did.  I'm not sure why.  I've never been in prison, and never been raped, but for whatever reason I find that forced prison sex is always deeply disturbing to me.  Gives me bad dreams even.  I don't let my son watch that sort of stuff.

Excellent movie, though.

Witness for the Prosecution

Charles Laughton's barrister character was great.
