Gone Baby Gone.

Very well done film. The ending situation was also an interesting question.

Charlie Wilson's War (2007)

A very good political film. Who better to direct it than Mike Nichols, the man that brought us Primary Colors and the man the brought us the screenplay Aaron Sorkin. If only they'd granted Wilson a million bucks to build schools in Afghanistan.....

BTW: I thought Phillip Seymour Hoffman was excellent in the film. A damn fine actor he is too.

Tomorrow I plan on going to Before The Devil Knows You're Dead which is playing at a budget theater. I'll be interested in seeing how Hoffman is in that. Oh, and Marisa Tomei's tits Smiley

Before the Devil knows you're dead.

Excellent. Its like everything the realist-heist movie (if that's not an oxymoron..) should be.

Match Point

Wow. I missed this first go around when my theater had it at the spring film festival, but I'm glad I finally got to see it. Incredibly well acted, filled with suspense, Scarlett Johannsen, well done plot. What more could you want.

Before The Devil Knows You're Dead.

Leave the non-linear stuff to Tarantino, because just about anyone else can't do it right. Aside fro that, very good, and nice gratuitous nudity.

Doesn't Scarlett get down to her undies in that?

There's sex. No nudity. I honestly can't remember what they do show.

And I saw The Bucket List Friday night. Not terrible.

CSA - Confederate States of America

It's a mockumentary. Interesting how the United States enters into a Cold War with Canada, which definitely is portrayed as the more advanced of the two countries in the film (much of what is African-American influenced American culture becomes Canadian, etc.).

Yeah, I was just watching it a few days ago as well. Quite disturbing viewing, but then it's meant to be.

Sheesh, I haven't been to a cinema in almost half a year. There are some movies coming up I want to catch though.

I saw Cloverfield in the theatres a couple of weeks ago. It was like Blair Witch Project meets Godzilla. Bleh.

Best Seller (1987) with James Woods, and Brian Dennehy. A good cop-killer thriller of the classic late 80s period of action/thriller.

Teeth

Just plain hilarious and uncomfortable.  "It's true!! VAGINA DENTATAAAA!!!" is one of the best lines ever.  I really never will get anywhere near one of those.

Juno (2007)

It was a really, really good film. I really hope that Ellen Page wins Best Actress Oscar on February 25, she deserves it Smiley. I must admit, I'm surprised you Americans are making some great films lately, I don't expect this trend to continue though.

I obviously haven't seen it yet but I'm counting down the days until Vantage Point comes out. It looks cool. Plus, Matthew Fox (Jack from LOST) is in it.

"Fanboy?" Sorry, I'm not too cultured. What is that exactly? I hardly ever see movies and I certainly wouldn't see Cloverfield. Was Fox in that, too?

Uh, just look at what it says and the two words that are put together. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanboy

Cloverfield was produced by J.J. Abrams which is the main reason the early title-less trailer got so much attention.

Eh, good for him. From what I've seen, I'd never actually sit down and watch it.

By the way, I figured "fanboy" was something along those lines. I don't see how Cloverfield fits into my "obsession" with LOST aside from Abrams. I only mentioned Fox in Vantage Point as an interesting bonus.
