A very good movie, I try to watch it at least once a year---mainly to look for my friend who was in the core Reenactor group!

As for me, I just finished re-watching Dear John, and am currently watching Labyrinth with my girls---it's one of my guilty pleasures!
Yeah it was quite good. Also the George Lucas Labyrinth?

The George Lucas Labyrinth, with David Bowie as the Goblin King!! My girls love it!

I watch my fair share of chick flicks, but as I have mentioned previously, I cry at the drop of a hat, and it bothers my middle daughter.  She hasn't quite got the concept of a good cry down yet.  So, chick flicks are for my oldest daughter and I, or times when I'm by myself.  Now, that being said, we watched Letters to Juliet, Dear John, and Sense and Sensibility earlier.  I have two sick  young ones, who shared with me, so we've been bonding with the couch and the blankets today......

Back to the Future.  Bought the trilogy on bluray.  Awesome.  The special features are even better than the dvd release I have from like 8 years ago.

The story boards for an alternate ending...(Marty driving the delorian into a ground blast A?/H?-Bomb test to get the required Jiggawattage) are great.

I recently watched Rian Johnson's second movie The Brothers Bloom, I enjoyed it. Not quite as captivating as Brick, but still a good work of art.

Superman Returns - The fact that it is often considered lackluster helped me enjoy it, I guess. It certainly exceeded my lowered expectations Wink Notable performance: Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor.

The Road - Pretty much what I expected. Certainly competes with Children of Men for the title of most depressing post-apocalyptic movie ever made. Tongue Viggo Mortensen was great though.

Children of Men was far too entertaining, and had a lot more spots of hope in it (unlike The Road) to be anywhere near as depressing.

It struck me as kind of pointless and an excuse to show really wacked out sh!t. Would be fun to watch high though.

My Bloody Valentine (81) - Pretty good actually, for a horror flick in that era.

Just watched part of Religulous and I can totally see why so many people hate it.  It's completely true.

It wasn't a bad film but the ending was really preachy and hypocritical. Up until then though it was a very solid and interesting film. I remember a review stating that Maher seemed to "not being out to convert but inspire debate", that was true for about 90% of the film when it was very good, but the ending was such a turnoff and 180 from that.

Religulous was garbage.  Bill Maher can be funny, but he can't be subtle.  His message in this film needed to be subtle.

I'd say it made up for it by being entertaining. Kind of like why I still watch Michael Moore movies even though I'm not a huge fan of preachy liberal movies (why watch movies just to preach what I already agree with?), because they are still quite entertaining.

The criticisms seem made up.  Why does it need to be subtle?  What's wrong with his message at the end?  It's no secret throughout the film he thinks religion is absurd in general and his ultimate point was made clear at the end.  I can't stand Michael Moore movies because of the bullshit masquerading as being objective.  Maher was clear that the point was to show the idiocy of religion from the beginning and doesn't try to trap anyone, he just calls them out straight up.

Remember the Daze.

Oh my God, this movie is the Anti-Oscar. It's so freaking amazing in only the most ironic of ways. It's absolutely horrendous if you're looking for a normal engrossing movie, but I recommend watching it for anyone who wants to watch a movie so awful, that it becomes one of the greatest things ever seen.

Die kommenden Tage

German family drama against the backdrop of a increasingly decaying near-future (global recession + ressource wars + Fight Club-style terrorism without the fight clubs Tongue ).

A bit too soap operaish for my taste (oh noes, a love quadruple!). As for the vision of the future it presents... certainly a worst-case scenario, but not as far-fetched as many other things I've seen. The sh**t starts to hit the fan when Islamists topple the Saudi Arabian government. They should have spend more time on that aspect of the movie instead of exploring who's sleeping with whom. Given the run-down state of society the movie depicted the implied solution to all the problems seemed a bit naive though ("hey, let's built more solar power, and everything will be fine again soon!").

Machete. OMG. See this movie. One minute it's a welldone satire of the US immigration debate, next minute it's an uber-violent gory slasher, next minute it's back to satire again.
