I'm trying to remember who I voted for in other elections besides President.

GOVERNOR OF KENTUCKY:

1991 - Jones (D)
1995 - Patton (D) (although I supported Galbraith in the primary)
1999 - Galbraith (Reform)
2003 - Chandler (D)

US SENATE:

Democratic in every Senate election since 1992

US HOUSE:

1992 - Poore (D)
1994 - Skaggs (D)
1996 - Bowman (D)
1998 - Lucas (D) (for lack of a better option)
2000 - Sain (G)
2002 - probably Grote (don't remember what third party this was)

Turned 18 in 1990
1992:  Bush 41
1996: Dole
2000: Dubya
2004:   probably Dubya, but we'll see.  Depends on PA being a swing state or not.  If yes, then Bush.  If no, then maybe Nolan  (Lib)

Oh...other elections

2004 Senate: Arlen Specter
         House: Jim Greenwood

2002: Mike Fisher
          Jim Greenwood

Fisher?Huh The union prosecutor??? Ick!! Are you voting Santorum in 2006?  Greenwood and Specter I can see.

Eh. Fisher wasn't that bad all around. If the election was really close I probably might have considered voting for rendell. Still, the democrats carried my house for the first time in a long time...2-1.

The thing is, thousands like me in Southeast PA...thousands of republicans will likely do the same...just as democrats out in the western part of the state will do the reverse.

1992: missed it by a few months...would've been Clinton then, but as I am now Perot.
1996: Clinton, but now Perot again.
2000: Gore, but now...damn, I wanted McCain to win! Probably third-party as I am now.
2004: Undecided, leaning third-party.

All races: 1994-2000 pretty much Democratic, with some Greens and Libertarians thrown in from time to time...

2002: Split my ticket a LOT:
NM Governor: Rep
NM Senate: Dem (only because it wasn't close and because Domenici's been around a while; now Rep)
NM House: Dem (in appreciation to the heartburn Romero gave the NM Democratic establishment)
NM Down-ticket races: In all but two cases Rep...proudly put a Rep as Commissioner of Public Lands! One Dem and one Libertarian.

2004: As it stands...
President: see above
NM House: Rep
NM Down-ticket races: pretty much all Rep - including two very competitive seats I'll help keep Rep... Grin

I've become a LOT more socially conservative and federalist over time...

You still should have voted Republican.  The problem we have in our party is that a lot of conservatives look down on us because they think we're all out there working for the other side.  You're just helping them prove their point, and that makes me very angry.

The thing is, thousands like me in Southeast PA...thousands of republicans will likely do the same...just as democrats out in the western part of the state will do the reverse.

You can argue with them. But I admit, I am what I am. A liberal republican. I don't call myself a moderate, because I'm not.

Now if it were mccain running...

Fine.  I respect that.  But you don't have to go betraying your fellow moderates over it.  There are those whacky libertarians out there!  And Nader, why not Nader?

Hehe.

If only the libertarians didn't focus on a state of near anarchy, they'd be far more successful.

And nader? should go back to inspecting consumer products.

Why is it a lot of what you say makes perfect sense?  You have to be the only Republican here that I don't need to whack over the head with a 2 by 4 and whip out the smelling salts.  Ok, I may not be a fan of the Bush tax cuts that greatly tilted towards the wealthy, but McCain I would jump the fence and vote for like I did Sam Katz (now regret it due to investment scandal).  I too ama conservative on budget matters and think the net surplus/deficit should be as close to 0 as possible.  One thing I've noticed in Philly is some people are pissed at Street and therfroe take it out on the Democrats.  I don't like Street either, but Bush is a hellofalot worse.  Pennsylvania should be interesting in the fact that Eastern PA will likely be solid Kerry. Central PA will eb Solid Bush.  Western PA is a tough animal to predict.  I've heard a lot of people out there unhappy with the employment situation and blame Bush.  They are socially conservative, but I think that will be close.
