Let's assume a Warner/Biden ticket wins in 2008 and the administration is reasonably, but not overly succesful, but Biden is too old (74) and doesn't run for Warner's job leaving the field wide open in 2016.

DEMOCRATS
Senator Hillary Clinton (NY) [she'll be 69]
Senator Barack Obama (IL)
Senator Bob Casey (PA)
Governor Elliot Spitzer (NY)
Governor Brian Schweitzer (MT)
Senator Stephanie Herseth (SD)
Senator Evan Bayh (IN)
Senator Russ Feingold (WI)
Senator Brad Henry (OK)
Senator Ken Salazar (CO)
Senator Mark Pryor (AR)
Senator Blanche Lincoln (AR)
Senator Harold Ford (TN)
Governor Ted Strickland (OH)
Senator Amy Klobuchar (MN)
Senator Janet Napotolino (AZ)
Governor Bill Ritter (CO)
Governor Antonio Villagrosa (CA)

REPUBLICANS
Senator? and Former Governor Jeb Bush (FL)
Governor Lynn Swann (PA)
Senator John Sununu (NH)
Senator and Former Presidential nominee George Allen (VA)
Senator Heather Wilson (NM)
Former Governor Matt Blunt (MO)
Chief Justice John Roberts (IN)
Governor Jim Nussle (IA)
Governor Charlie Crist (FL)
Governor Ralph Reed (GA)
Senator Rick Santorum (PA)
Senator Robert Ehrlich (MD)
Former Governor Mark Sanford (SC)
Senator Candice Miller (MI)

Obviously, election results and ability to stay relavant will play a large role for most of these candidates.

I don't think he will, I was just listing possibilities.

Also add for the GOP:
Senator Michael Steele (MD)
Senator Tom Kean (NJ)

Also adding to the Republicans GA Govenor Ralph Reed and FL Senator George P. Bush (maybe) could be too early in his term for a run . In addition for the Democrats Govenor Claire Mccskill-MO.

Ralph Reed will certainly not be elected to statewide office in Georgia.  Polls have him losing badly in his primary for Lt. Gov., but even if he is the nominee, any of the little-known Dems beats him.

The worst polls I've seen for him are campaign polls put out by Martin showing him down 5%, with 40% undecided. That's certainly not losing badly.

Losing badly to Casey Cagle in the primary.  Closer in the general.

The only poll I saw was this Strategic Vision poll conducted a month ago that had Reed up 40-34. Have any others been released since?
