Hitler would be quite popular in modern America if he didn't already have all that historical baggage and the awkward appearance.

I have little doubt that one of McCain's aides will personally kill Hitler long before the election, so McCain/McCain.

Erm... the Neocons would hate him because a lot of them are, ya know, Jewish. The Religious Right wouldn't like some of his pseudo-pagan beliefs. His racial superiority views alienate not only non-whites but a large number of whites - Eastern (Slavic) Europeans, for example, many of whom are Republicans. 

Plus, he cannot ever become President because he was not born in the United States.

I don't see why the 'historical baggage' would be such a terrible impediment in the bad place.
