You probably don't want to here this, but the only way for forum politics to be back up at full strength is to let it die. People are leaving left and right (myself included), people are opting out of reelection. The solution is let it die. Start over from scratch, and it will be successful again.

Perhaps move to a government simulation, we could make our own. I joined one and became the Speaker of the House, we had 80 something members in a few weeks, but then it just died out. I think we could expand to a government simulation using the same people here and it would be more enjoyable.

Just my two sense. Feel free to say I'm an idiot or good idea. (I know a few will say "Im an idiot too" Smiley)

Yeah, no offense, but it's getting kind of boring.  The same cycle repeats itself every time:

Lewis Elected, refuses, I'm elected, I do nothing, I resign, Alcon succeeds, refuses to make cabinet appointments, seen as doing nothing
Siege Elected, promises to work really hard, disappears, election crisis
Joe elected after big crisis, promises to work really hard, disappears (I realize this was becase of the accident, and this was no fault of his own, I'm just saying it happened).
Ebowed elected after another Lewis situation occurs

We can only hope Ebowed will change things for the better.

How about somebody run on this:

"If elected, I PROMISE to do nothing!"  Grin

Or we can have another coup attempt/civil war/independence movement...

We could do away with the executive (by whatever name, president, prime minister, etc.) entirely, and simply have the legislature take over that role instead.  It isn't as if we would miss much by not having a president who can't do much anyway.  It would be an interesting experiment in governance, to say the least.

What we have now is too familiar and therefore doesn't have the novelty that would hold someone's interest long enough for them to stick around.  It wouldn't hurt to experiment a little -after all, this is only a game.

Or you could just burn down the white house and cut the constitution in half and kill the president and VP and the cabinet.

How would letting it die make it better when it gets remade?  It seems to me that it got to where it is for a reason, and having us do it again isn't exactly going to make us magically figure out how to make it better.

Relative newcomers are probably working harder than the old crowd! Dave works hard in the Senate and I'm trying my best as Governor in the Mideast with 6 propositions in two months and more on the way. The Fantasy Forum was busy at Presidential election time but quietens down considerably after that.

If you let it die, it would come back again in a similar form with the same problems.
