They probably all do, but I don't know enough about all of their positions to be able to say for sure.

I'd let them speak for themselves.

All of my positions are moderate.  Economically I advocate an even compromise between capitalism and socialism - between the owner and the owned.  Socially I espouse the moderate, modest position of not tasking the State with the job of interfering in people's personal lives.

Why am I on this list?

I think too many people confuse my outspokeness with my actual governing beliefs.

I have too many moderate positions to list, including abortion, affirmative action, environmental issues, taxation, budget issues, and others.

And generally regardless of my ideals, I also share a strong belief in pragmatism.  I feel the need to focus on real ideas that produce results, rather than ideologism.

I agree. You have no place on this list

BTW, Jake is moderate on the death penalty. He only supports it rather than strongly supports it

If you're moderate, I shudder to think what I must be

I'm moderate on a lot of things, I just never talk about those things. Take immigration for example. I believe that illegals have broken the law, and should either get citizenship or go back to their homelands. Of course, I believe in attaining citizenship easier for these folks.

Actually, I wouldn't consider jfern's actual views all that extreme - he's just extreme anti-Bush, anti-Republican in general, and anti-people who disagree with him. Basically I think he's around average for a Democrat but is very vocal and not easy to have a debate with.

Though he's a definitly more socially liberal (economic too, but not as much) than the average Democrat.

Maybe you're right - it's kind of hard to get jfern's actual views when they are blocked by yelling and general unfriendliness. Tongue
