A lot of this depends on who runs, of course:

Hillary Clinton - 50% (the 45.1 is not too far off)
Mark Warner - 15%
Al Gore - 8% (he moves to 25% immediately, should he care to run)
Russ Feingold - 7%
Evan Bayh - 6%
John Edwards - 4%
John Kerry - 3%
Joe Biden - 2%
All other possibilities - 5%

Edited to add Bayh (who I forgot about)...

I truely believe Warner will win it.  Just as long as he doesnt make a major gaffe during the primaries.

Given the list, Hillary Clinton.  I want Mark Warner, but knowing Democrats, we will likely get stuck with either Hillary or Russ Feingold.

With Clinton, Republicans win. I think people are tired of the same two families running the country. i.e. Bush and Clinton. I believe Warner is the best chance the Democrats have.

As with the GOP nomination, I'm not sure. However, I think Hillary has a much less chance of winning the Dem nomination than McCain does of winning the GOP nomination.

Clinton. She should be able to rack up the superdelegates very easily with some help from her husband, and should win enough primaries to secure herself the nomination. Clinton will probably take New Hampshire and Iowa, with the only chance of stopping her lying in South Carolina (assuming that the primary order isn't changed by then).

The biggest question is whether her favorability rating will improve by 2008. Right now, there's no question that McCain beats her by a 5-9% margin. However, she'll definitely gain some positive press by her 2006 landslide re-electon. It'll be interesting to see what her prospects of winning the presidency are in one year from now (they probably won't improve, but you never know).

I'm personally prefer Gore, but if he doesn't run, Warner or Bayh.

Mark Warner, because Democrats want to move away from their past and towards their future.

Hillary if it was now and then probably Feingold. Warner doesn't really have a big chance to win the Democratic primary, the national election yes, not the Dem primary.

Clinton looks like the highest prospect at this point, but somehow I don't feel she'll keep her current momentum.  Possibly loose it to Evan Bayh, Mark Warner, Feingold, Biden, Richardson...

I'd say most likely it's Biden-just a guess

If I had to bet money, I'd bet on Warner, maybe Richardson. Bayh won't get past the feminists.

As a GOP'er, I hope it's Hillary. I hope it's not Warner.

Mark Warner or Evan Bayh, because Democrats need to realize that leftists like Hillary (despite the fact that she pretends to be moderate) can't win national elections.

Whoever becomes the Stop Hilary candidate will win this.

I beg to differ.

The Stop Hillary candidate and Hillary herself will begin a campaign battle, with ferocious negativity in campaign ads.  As in the 2004 Democratic Iowa caucuses, this battle between the frontrunners will result in another candidate's campaign gaining momentum.  This third candidate will win the nomination.

Ah, but the first one is the one who WANTS to become the Stop Hilary candidate. The third candidate is the REAL Stop Hilary candidate. Smiley

Anyways, this can only happen if there's a very early Stop Hilary candidate.

You must be extremely deluded.
