Beebe is a down to earth kind of man. He seems to be connecting with voters. That will explain his recent pull away in the polls. Also Republican fatigue could be another factor.

My prediction

(D)Beebe-52%
(R)Hutchison-47%

Arkansas isn't very Republican on the state level, and Asa doesn't seem to be impressing many.  This is a strong bet to go Dem.

You could see a Warner like effect once Huckabee goes to bat for Asa.

Im not sure how popular Beebe is though?

Beebe seems decently popular and is definitely connecting well with voters.  From what I've seen of him (And I've met him and heard him speak and read a lot about of him in the newspapers), he's the kind of Democrat that has no problem winning in Arkansas.

Wow, only 52%-47%, I'll confidently predict that due to Bush fatigue and Hutchison's very real associations with the chief executive, its Beebe: 54%-45% at least.

Beebe is a great candidate and it seems like he will win. Asa was also Under Secretary of DHS for Border Security. I think Beebe is too strong for a Warner like effect here, but I could be wrong. I would like to see Warner campaigning for Beebe, that would be a good race for him.

According to Asas website, he was "Vice Chairman of the President's Board To Protect American Civil Liberties."

The President cares about civil liberties?
