I just realised that I  probably got Kucinich first over other Democrats, because I agree with him on abortion issue. I have understood that he's pro LIFE. Am I right?

That would probably be correct.

He is pro-life? I thought he was a liberal maniac?

I know I did too but according to this

http://www.prolife.org/nat160.html

and other links I've found it seems he conservitive on one issue...

Interesting...one of the last authoritarians perhaps? (being against individual freedoms in all areas)

My understanding is that he's always been quite liberal overall, but on the one issue of abortion, he was pro-life until a year or two ago.

Article:

<<Kucinich’s new rhetoric mimics some of the oldest lines in the pro-abortion movement, according to long-time pro-life observers. For instance, on his website, Kucinich says, "I have come to believe that it's not simply about the right to choose, but about a woman's role in society as being free and having agency and having the ability to make her own decisions. That a woman can't be free unless she has this right."

Pro-life leaders note that this kind of statement fails to recognize the phenomenon of post-abortion syndrome, where women experience emotional and psychological problems because of their profound grief over the deaths of their unborn children. Rather than being a freeing experience, abortion can lead a woman to feel trapped, according to recent post-abortion research.>>

Maybe that's because of the social stigma against abortion.

Kucinich used to be one of the few Dems in Congress against abortion.  Then he started making plans to run for president and completely sold out.

I'm glad to see that you're pro-life, though.  That makes me feel like there's some decency still left in your party.  You must've been pretty upset with Slick Willy when he twice vetoed perhaps the most important piece of legislation over the last 20 years=the partial birth abortion ban.

Kucinich "switched" from pro-life to pro-choice a few years ago, basically right before he decided to run for President.  If you ask me, he's still secretly pro-life.

Same with Gore and Gepardt.  They both used to be strongly pro-life in the early 80's.  They changed their stances when they went national.

Not too many surprises.  How is Kucinich high up there?  Why is Edwards so low?  Disagreed w/ question that said war w/ Iraq was unilateral.  I guess the UK + 40 other countries don't count if France and Angola disagree.

Sharpton is my highest Democrat. I wouldn't support him because of his racial divisiveness, but we do agree on a lot of things. I'm also surprised that Kerry was a bit low.

Soulty,

You don't have to share this if you don't want to, but since you got 100% Bush, could you list each of the Dem candidates so we can see how well Bush matches up with each of the Dems?

I've decided i'm not voting for Kerry, but I'm not too sure if I like Dean either. I'm still sort-of thinking Gephardt, but I know that he won't win much outside Iowa.

I went to a practice caucus the other day. It took hours. Why can't we just put a cross in the box like everyone else?!?

No, Edwards would make the perfect VP; but I don't think I'd want him as head-honcho in DC.

Plus he won't win Iowa anyway, and therefore would be a wasted vote.

A lot of these polls seem to indicate that Clark is more to the left than most people thought (since he scores so low on all the Republicans results) and that Kerry is more to the right, since he does relatively well on their scores. Any thoughts?

Well. I have the say that there is very few pro-life in Finnish National Coaliton Party. It's pretty liberal on social issues. Home, religion and Fatherland were once it's mainvalues, but nowadays it's more Libertarian party.

GWBFan. I hope that you did'n get angry with my statement that your post was misleading. But honestly. It was. Kosovo operation was  essential and it's no doubt that Milosevic is very big war criminal. But well you did not write it yourself.

Actually, I agreed with taking Milosevic out.  I didn't write the article, as you pointed out.  I myself believe the U.S. has a *right* to take out any dictator possible if it means saving lives in the long run.

But the author of this article has a wonderful point.  If you supported Kosovo, which posed absolutely NO THREAT to us, then there's no way you canNOT support Iraq, which at the very least posed some threat to us.  Kosovo was a battle in favor of human rights; Iraq is as well.

What happened to the Democrats?  They used to be the party of human rights, which would make them highly supportive of this war.  The only reason they hate this war is b/c it isn't a liberal Democrat masterminding it.
