Announcement by HappyWarrior, resident of the Mideast region!
Live from Annapolis, Maryland

Hello everyone and thank you for coming.  I would like to now formally announce my candidacy for the office of Mideast Governor.  I hope to lead the mideast into tomorrow with progressive policies.  I concede that the current Governor has been reasonable in his managing of the region, but I will act as an activist governor.  I will push for fixs for the environment in our fair region and to give it's residents a fair deal.  I will work with the residents of the region and I will be always open to suggestions.  I promise to be fair with the people of the region and hope to receive you're votes next month.  Once again thank you very much.  That is all I have to say for today.

Does that mean you're dropping out of the gubernatorial race?

I will be running against HappyWarrior.  My first time out!

Welcome, I'm sure it will be a clean race and hopefully we can have a debate sometime within the next week or two.

I'm officially announcing my withdrawl for the race for Governor, I was expecting an easy campaign which at the moment is all I could manage due to working an internship, a job, managing my regular life, and preparing for my third college semester.  Its just not possible for me to do.  I will of course endorse the Mikado who I think will make quite a capable governor.

How do you possibly get off calling yourself a "leftist"?  Name one left wing viewpoint that you hold.  Even if you can, you are more right than left, and you know it.

I am a little bit of a fiscal conservative, besides that, I don't hold any right wing view points. I favor the preservation of choice, am supportive of gay rights, desire environmental protections for biodiversity, have vehemently opposed taxes that disproportionately affect the poor, desire health care reform, and am a fair trader. I have consistently opposed all religious nutjobs, only believe in cutting taxes during times of necessity (recessions), not just cutting taxes for the sake of cutting taxes. Let's be real, if we just campaign on tax cuts forever, pretty soon there will be no taxes left to cut, and I support a balanced budget mandate for at least 70% of budgets.

Then why are you in the RPP?

Yeah to be fair, you sound a lot closer to the DA than the RPP.

The DA would be more than happy to welcome him!

To answer Swedish Cheese, Happy Warrior and Hashemite- although I am glad to support and work with the DA, the RPP is where I feel most comfortable at. People like myself and Vepres are welcomed into the RPP not because we are hardcore conservatives, but because we share common values with the party, including regional rights and federalism, and a proactive attitude. And despite all of the hatred DWTL seems to receive, I am proud to have him as Chairman- he has been one of the friendliest and most supportive on this forum. I think it is this kind of "grey area" where the RPP and DA share things in common that allow us to work so well together, and hopefully will be able to continue our relationship and desire for progress in the next Senate.
DWTL?  Friendly lol.  He's friendly til you piss him off once then he is a permanent douche.
