I'm sorry in advance if this is posted in the wrong place.

sbane, I'm a new citizen of the Northeast and have been reading up on what the Assembly has done this term. I have a few questions for you, since you're running for re-election:

Do you support Assemblyman Matthews' proposal to designate English as the official language of the Northeast Region?

Do you support the single transferrable vote system currently in place in Atlasia, or do you feel that there is some better alternative that could be implemented?

Do you believe that a flat-income-tax proposal is a fundamentally good idea or a bad idea?

You haven't introduced any legislation this term, but you've proposed a few interesting amendments to proposed legislation. Why should I support your candidacy, on the basis of your record?

Thanks for your time,

hc

I'd like to announce that I will be a candidate in the April 2011 Northeast Assembly election.

I will be a candidate in the Northeastern Assembly elections.

If my loophole detecting skills are correct, there is nothing in the Northeastern Constitution that prohibits non-residents from doing so.

Shoot...you sly bastard...

You're the perfect politician!

What do I call you? A carpetbagger without a carpetbag? And you will likely win, since the assembly has so many blasted seats. Well, in any case, this just goes to show how much the NE is in dire need of some good old-fashioned "re-form".

That was my deliberate attempt at being anti-climatic in announcing my aspiration to represent the Northeast region in the Atlasian Senate.

Cheesy Go for it, Napoleon! You will make a great Senator, I'm certain.

I know this is totally OT, but why is your user title "The Ugly Kitchen"?

"La cocina" also is the Spanish word for "cooking" or "cookery". Hence, "the ugly cooking", or a bad translation of homelycooking.

You were never a candidate, MOPolitico: you merely said that you'd accept write-in votes. Do you mean that you won't accept those votes now?

Not sure if it's too late but I'll accept write-ins in the Northeast Assembly election just 'cause.

Referring to the special or general election?

Also, I always vote NOTA in elections where no candidates are listed on the ballot - I would have gladly voted for Marokai and Cincinnatus had they declared their candidacies. My thinking is that if you considered yourself legitimate and honest in your run for an office, you would have declared yourself a candidate.

Notice of Special Northeast Election:

There is ONE vacancy in the Northeast Assembly, caused by the decision of Lt. Governor Winfield to take that post instead of his Assembly seat.

Because I only certified the last other elected member of the Assembly today, a voting booth to fill the vacancy will be opened next Friday, July 1 at 12:00:00AM and shall remain open until the end of the day Sunday, July 3 at 11:59:59pm Eastern time.

Candidates who wish to have their name placed on the special election ballot shall declare their intention to run in the special election on the Candidate Declaration Thread before 12:00:00 Eastern time on Thursday, June 30.

Yeah, you can win a seat in our Assembly if you write yourself in, even if you preference a hundred people before yourself. Tongue

I will accept any write-in votes cast for myself in the upcoming Senate election, if it's not too late to do this.

Oh dear.. I want to vote for you, but I don't want to lose you either Tongue

Thanks Cincinnatus: see the announcement from my battle-bus.

You wont be. Write-ins are allowed, thus, nobody wins without a vote.

Cold f--king comfort, my friend.

I will be running for Snowguy's vacated Senate seat.
I'm in the running for Snowguy's old Senate seat.

This is going to be a barn-burner of a Senate race.

I'd like to see what the preliminary polling looks like here. This could be a very unpredictable three-way race.

Given that we only have 4 candidates who have declared their intention to run since the last general election, I am tentatively running for Senate.

TJ in Cleve, Junkie, Kalwejt, 20RP12 and Nathan have declared their intentions, no? That's five.

So it does.

I hereby announce my candidacy for election to a full term in the December federal elections.

I'm running for the special election to the NE senate seat

There is no special election to a NE senate seat. The vacant seat is At-large.

So few candidacies for Senate, and just about two days left until the deadline.
Four uncontested races? What a laugh. Sad
