Shocked. Shocked I tell you that a Republican elected in a rapidly D-trending state as a pragmatic moderate that then voted like a right wing Republican would get blanched.

He never was moderate. He just ran a really good campaign.

Democrats just needed to run a generic democrat here. They did run a generic Democrat and Gardner has never even really been close.

Emphasis on RAN as a moderate. He wasn't a moderate, he pretended to be one.

He did do a good job pretending to be a moderate, but we shouldn't forget how disgustingly biased against Udall the press was in this state in 2014.

i remember they portrayed mark udall as mark uterus in 2014. it was basically udall attacking gardner on contraception issues or women's issues.

heres a link to that

Not shocked, but I've historically expected him to lose in the high single digits.

Yup exactly. The press ridiculed him because he correctly pointed out that Gardner would vote to ban abortion in this country. They painted him as hysterical, and reassured voters that moderate nice guy Cory Gardner would never do such a thing.

Now, of course, Gardner will be voting to put the fifth vote against Roe v. Wade on the supreme court later this month, and Udall is totally and completely vindicated.

DOA. What an awful state to run as a staunch right-winger in.

I couldn't agree more. As I've said repeatedly, Gardner has never made any effort to distinguish himself from his Republican colleagues-aside from the issue of marijuana, which he's approached from a State's Rights perspective.

Always expected Gardner to lose, but I didn’t think he’d actually get Kirk’d. Safe D.

Mr. Gardner is done and long has been.

I doubt he even would have a shot if he voted as moderate rather than a right-wing Trump hack. But now that he has chosen to enable his cult leader, he's absolutely done.

Okay, maybe Hickenlooper wasn't such a bad candidate after all. My guess is Hickenlooper +10.

People, as expected, really overestimated how much those fake "scandals" would hurt him.
