are bush's tax cuts working?

This is a question about causality.  

Just because you do X, then Y happens, doesn't mean X CAUSED Y to happen.

Maybe Y is caused by some third variable.

So Bush keeps saying that his tax cuts are working, that they are what's helping the economy.

Do you buy it?  Is there a causal link?  Or is it nonesense?

Tax cuts worked under Ronald Reagan. Tax cuts do help the economy, but they are not the only variable that help the economy grow.

The tax cuts have had a negative effect, but the economy is clearing by it. I wonder if Bush can take credit for the tax cuts causing the recent good news. I'm waiting for interest rates to return to where they were in 2001 before I can call it a full recovery. 30 cents a month out of $1,700 makes me feel pretty depressed. I used to make a $1 a month off of about $800.

There are so many variables its impossible to be so certain if the depression would have gotten worse or better due to the tax cuts.

Is the recovery in spite of Bush's economic policy or because of it?  Someone who advocates Kerry's "middle-class tax cuts" view might say that cutting taxes helped but he could have done so much more by cutting it for the right people.

Which would be true, if analysts hadn't repeated, over and over again during 2002, that only consumer spending was the only  sector of the economy not in complete contraction.  The lower middle class tax cuts helped slightly in this regard, but the tax cuts for the upper class/stinkin' rich were the real reasons why the economy didn't just collapse outright.
