Socialist Campaign Group: This group is on the hard-left of the party, and is deeply opposed to New Labour. (100%)

Bennites: Bennites generally believe in a republican system of governance in Britain and an elected/the abolition of the Lords. (89%)

Brownite: The main difference between Blairites and Brownites is tribal, and stems from the 1994 leadership election. There are ideological differences as well, as Brownites are less critical of the unions, are opposed to private sector interference in public services and are more socially liberal than Blairites. (12%)

Blairites: Blairites support the introduction of quasi-markets into public services, and are noted for having an Atlanticist foreign policy. Blairites are criticized by some for not being socialist enough whilst in government. (0%)

Moderates: Moderates are more economically right-wing than the SCG and the Bennites, but are as socially progressive. (0%)

I don't think I would be part of the Labor Party if I lived in the U.K., but I took the test anyway.

Politic-O-Matic

You don't believe government should try to protect us from ourselves. You are convinced that what is right and good will always triumph – and that the people of this country are ready to move forward again – enough wallowing and apologizing! The feds need to get out of the way, quit making rules, quit wasting our money, quit paying folks to be lazy – and focus on what is needed to make America great once again.

It’s no secret that you’re a liberal. You’re strict when it comes to regulating big business, but lenient when it comes to individual freedoms. The right to marry whom you want; the right of a woman to choose what she does with her body; the right to privacy; and the right to free health care are all freedoms you’re willing to fight passionately for. You’re also willing to expend the financial resources necessary to accomplish those goals. That might include some difficult decisions about raising taxes, but when it comes to our rights and freedoms, no price is too high to pay.

If there's one thing you hate more than anything else, it’s the status quo. This makes you something of a maverick, and many of your political views might be considered odd by your more conventionally minded neighbors. You certainly don’t tow anyone’s line, and while this can make religious and political conversations a bit awkward, your forthright honesty engenders a certain amount of respect from others. You’re deeply protective of your privacy and extremely wary of too much governmental interference. Your fellow citizens, after all, are a pretty sharp group of people; they don’t need Big Government micro-managing every little detail of their lives.

The government, quite frankly, is too big, and you’re happy to trumpet this belief from the rooftops. It spends too much, it regulates too much, it gets embroiled in foreign affairs that it has no business getting involved with, and it constantly passes laws that simply attempt to make itself larger. How many of the country’s problems can simply be attributed to rampant bureaucracy and governmental excess? Downsize Big Government and return control to the people and you’ve got a solid foundation for prosperity and success.

As a spiritual person, you’re very concerned with human rights issues such as poverty and disease. You’re also passionate about issues that concern life and death, such as abortion and the death penalty. You believe both to be wrong; neither is ever justifiable. Environmental and conservation issues are also near and dear to your heart, although you want to balance such green concerns with economic ones. You take the same moderate approach to other hot button issues such as gay marriage, health care, and the regulation of Wall street. Cooler minds will prevail. Having a hot head never helped anyone.
