I took a Canadian political test, which was predictably awful. The person who wrote it is stupid. According to the thing, I'm a Harper/Dumont Conservative (aka, a fascist). Lolz.

I took a short 3-question French quiz on my politics and I got Orleanist Right. Very, very accurate. It's on Facebook.

French political quiz:

1. NC
2. MoDem
3. UMP (centrist wing)
4. Jean-Marie Bockel's Modern Left

centre-right on economics
centre-left on social issues
centre-right on identity and national values

If you speak French or can use a translator, it's a great political test.

But a fail test for the lack of options other than systematic yes or no. And yeah, the questions were insanely biased towards these guy's radical libertarianism.

As for compass, a much better test;

You are a center-left social moderate.
Left: 1.17, Libertarian: 0.65

Foreign Policy:

On the left side are pacifists and anti-war activists. On the right side are those who want a strong military that intervenes around the world. You scored: -1.02

Culture:

Where are you in the culture war? On the liberal side, or the conservative side? This scale may apply more to the US than other countries. You scored: -4.12

Gah, any Economic  Right Wing ideology sucks, including and especially libertarianism!  Free market & privatisation my arse...!

Okay Trot.

That was probably intended as an insult but I've decided to take it as a compliment nonetheless, regardless of how overrated Leon Trotsky potentially was.

Ideally, UK elections would be contested by a Thatcherite Tory Party and a Gladstonian Liberal Party. And socialism would die out.

Alternatively, you'd much prefer a right-wing military coup outlawing all opposition.

Brazilian political quiz from Veja

http://veja.abril.com.br/idade/testes/politicometro/politicometro.html

questions:

1. The MST (note: left-wing movement of farmers with no land) acted correctly when it invaded lands to push for agrarian reform
2. It's better to have a dictatorship with economic stability than a democracy with inflation
3. There should be a substantial reduction in the tax burden (basically taxes should be cut)
4. The privatizations of certain sectors such as energy or telephones brought positive results
5. It's correct/OK that the state should decide if strikes are legal or not
6. Between a corrupt but efficient candidate (eg, a corrupt candidate who is efficient, competent and brings results) and a honest but inefficient/incompetent candidate, I prefer the first.
7. It is reprehensible that people becomes millionaires just because of the financial market without contributing anything to society
8. In commercial relations between countries, protectionism is sometimes necessary
9. The state should only control public safety, health and education leaving the other sectors as the sole responsibility of private companies
10. The freer the market, the freer the people
11. Rights such as holidays, ??, and FGTS (government fund for employees, don't know much about) should be removed from the law and negotiated on a case-by-case basis between employers and employees
12. Abortion should be legal in all circumstances
13. The possession and use of marijuana should be legalized
14. In certain cases, it is justified that the police uses violent methods to obtain confessions from criminals
15. Research such as embryonic stem-cell research should be legalized/liberalized
16. Every person must have the right to carry a firearm
17. Religious education should be in the curriculum of every school
18. An homosexual couple should have the same rights to adopt a child as heterosexual couples do
19. Certain TV programs should be censored
20. There should be a monthly tuition fee for public universities (Brazilian public universities are free, iirc, since they're financed by the state, but there is a fiercely contested entrance exam for them)

I almost exactly the same spot on the grid as on the forum's PM test, which they classify as 'right-wing liberal'. Right on economics (but barely) and liberal on society. 'Direita' is right, 'esquerda' is left. Their 'antiliberal' means authoritarian here.

Re-done:

1. l'UMP

And centre-right on economics (if only because of more right-wing positions on welfare
slightly left of centre-left on social issues
right on national identity and 'responsibility'

My personal analysis of why I'm unlikely to vote for these parties:
UMP- it's nothing more than an authoritarian CPSU-like personal machine for Sarkozy and his crooks.
AL- Fringe with numerous splits due to the authoritarian leadership
Cap21- lol
MoDem- lol
NC- It's becoming indistinguishable from the UMP
MPF- Not crazy
GM- one-man fringe

I did the 'Politest', the only good French political quiz online: http://www.politest.fr/

Avec ce profil politique on peut dire que vous vous situez plutôt à gauche. (rather left-wing)
Economy and social:  (centre-right)
Way of living (morality):  (far-left)
Identity and responsibility:  (centre)

Top parties
1. Cap21
2. Gauche Moderne
3. MoDem
4. NC
