If we had a President, he'd tell Israel to take some chill pills.

Well, of course the crazy neocons would like to start World War 3.

Do you honestly expect Israel to stand back and allow Hezbollah to launch rocket attacks and incursions into her sovereign territory?

Surprising as it may seem, seldom, if at all, have Israel been the aggressor since its inception as a sovereign state in 1948

Dave

Quit acting as if only Hezbollah has been to blame. What Hezbollah did was retalaition for something else. It's this kind of insane thinking that started World War I. Why are you chickenhawks not in Iraq?

And before you claim that those of us against starting random wars are against fighting a war that needs to be fought, I remind you that FDR said "war is hell".

There is no question that they are.  There is, however, an armed gang, much like like a street gang in the US, that needs to be disarmed.  The government of Lebanon is free, but not all powerful.  Israel will help Lebanon, in the long run by disarming Hezbollah.

What sort of freedoms are these? The freedom to get killed by Isreal?

Israel is refusing the Lebanese cease-fire offers. I think a country could assert control over its territory better when it's not having its infrastructure bombed to hell. If Israel wants Lebanon to take over its south, then why not work with them instead of blockading them and bombing their airports?

Israel has a right to defend itself from Canadian civilians.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz seems to be a rare voice of reason on this conflict.

Anyways, someone needs to lock the Israel and Lebanon leaders in a room and tell them they're not coming out until they end this nonsense.
