'Walter Wolfgang, the heckler ejected from last year's Labour conference, has been elected to the party's ruling National Executive Committee (NEC).
The 83-year-old, from south-west London, was fourth in a poll of ordinary party members - which guarantees him a seat on the body.

He said his heavy-handed treatment in Brighton had "woken people up" to Labour's "control freakery".

And the NEC result was "partially a result of that", he added.'

Well done sir Smiley

Hey, I had this result up over at the Internal Elections forum within minutes of it appearing on the BBC ticker.
Very good set of results for the Left.

Wolfgang is an interesting fella; very important in CND.

Ah well. BTW, three of those I voted for were elected (Black, Reeves and Wheeler)

With the exception of Ann Black, who at least sends me a regular NEC report, none of the candidates who voiced opposition to the Iraq War never got a look in with me. I had to narrow it down a bit somehow Grin

I'm not too bothered though. Of those elected, only Willsman I don't particularly like, largely because of his anti-American address. He'd have us back to 1983, that one would Roll Eyes
