I had 4 that were removed about 9 or 10 years ago.

Well that was enlightening...in all my actual discussions on this topic irl, I clearly misunderstood what others were going through when they talk about pain.

I was out for like 24 hours afterwards and on painkillers for like 10 days though flushed most of the prescription. I did not have many discussions with the doctor on this as I put it off from consultation for like three years so had no clue what to expect going in. It clearly wasn't a serious case because at consultation, I was told that they could be taken out but it wasn't obviously necessary. Weird to hear what the typical procedure is...

Had 3 removed at 18.  That itself wasn't painful but I ignored the doctors orders about avoiding solid foods after the operation so I ended up developing a painful cyst with half my face swelling up.

Insurance wouldn't pay for general anesthesia so I had a local. I remember the loud cracking sound and the dentist basically jumping on my chest trying to get the things out. Remember like it was yesterday, in fact, when in reality it was 17 years ago.

Yes, one. It wasn't painful at all, but it was very scary and unsettling hearing your teeth wrenched out. You keep on feeling the anesthetic is going to suddenly wear off all of a sudden and you will be left in unbearable pain.

They kept you conscious for it?!?! That's absolute cruelty!!

I honestly thought that it was standard tbh.
I went under for one of my removals but that one was dug in quite badly, for the other one they just used a local anesthetic.

Nope. And I'm 26 now, so that's one thing I never had to worry about or will have to worry about. Cheesy

Yes, in November 2018. I had been told that they were so deep and so stuck that they would never be able to grow in, so I thought I was in the clear, but then the lower ones started somehow pressing on the rest of my teeth below the gums, so my bottom teeth started slowly becoming more and more crooked. So I had to get them removed. I had them take out all four just to be safe.

The painkillers they gave me didn't work, and my one and only romantic relationship ended like 3 days later. It was not a pleasant week.

I’ve never had my wisdom teeth removed because of the complications following the procedure. So far, I don’t feel anything from keeping my wisdom teeth.

Nope.

I was always given the option.   And always declined.

It's pretty idiotic voluntary giving up your teeth for no reason.

No. I never had any on the bottom row, and there was plenty of room on the top row

It sounds like a moneymaking scheme for dentists and insurance.
