Incumbent John Sweeney leads challegning Democrat Kristen Gillibrand by a healthy 19 points, 53-34.  This bodes quite for Sweeney in keeping his seat.

Link and source, please?

I have a sneaking suspicion this is a partisan poll?

sorry about that, it's very Siena College, not a partisan poll.

College congressional poll.  Major qualms on both accounts, but it's good to have a poll, at least.

No kidding.  Still much better than an internal poll, but I don't know how much qualitative use that gives it.

It tells us Sweeney is probably within +/-20 points.

I live NY-20 and this poll actually puts Sweeny in bad shape compared to where he was in '04. Of course he is still likely to win by significant margin but I would still fear the "Spitzer effect" if I was him. Gillibrand has to get her name out there though. Nobody really knows who she is.

Does NY-20 include Essex County?

Yes, the western part of Essex.  But not the whole county.
