Likely Republican candidate John McCain wins the Republican nomination and less likely Democratic candidate Russ Feingold wins the Democratic nomination.

I do actually feel uncomfortable with this scenario.

I think Feingold will be able to hold the upper mid west (MN, IA) as well as MI and WI (obviously). I think Feingold will bring out heavier Jewish numbers in FL and I think because he will wins FL he wins the election - but I have PA and OH as toss ups.

Feingold - 265
McCain - 232
Toss - Up - 41

I think McCain could win the PV - because I think he'll flatten Feingold in the south.

McCain/McCain, he'd be able to tear Feingold to shreads.

McCain 315
Finegold 223

McCain appeals greatly to moderates as Finegold is seen as the extreme liberal.  He is able to flip IO because he is so close to it, but McCain flips OR, NH, ME, and PA.

I dunno... Russ is pretty popular in the urban areas, and here in the western side, as well as in Philly... I think he would win PA, but I don't know if he could hold Ohio.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Polnut there. McCain would absolutely smoke Feingold.

At risk of being called a 'DINO' by those who have apparently annointed themselves the only 'legitimate' incarnation of the Democratic Party: McCain/McCain

McCain 315
Feingold 223

Looks about right.

Moderate McCain defeats leftist ideologue Feingold decisively.

McCain          318
Feingold        220

Feingold/McCain, as Americans vote for more of the same. Winfield's map looks good, although I've give Oregon, Michigan, and Maine to Russ.

These states are all messed up. He'd (Feingold) win what Kerry got and then some.

Yes, of course, because McCain is only one of the most popular political figures, and Feigold is seen as a liberal extremist, do you seriously believe that?

McCain dominates the midwest and even upsets Feingold in Wisconsin. The truth is, Feingold is a wee bit to far to the left to compete with a moderate, especially one of McCain's popularity.

Though I like Russ Feingold, McCain would kick his ass back to Wisconsin. McCain victory.
