No, unless their behavior was hostile.  And if that were the case, it wouldn't matter what religion they were.

Not like people on this forum saying I'm a racist b/c I believe in conservative values and people should speak the official language of the country that they want to be a part of.  If I were to move to Mexico, I would learn Spanish first, or at least make an effort to enough Spanish to get by.  That is not racist.

I went to Spain and certainly had enough Spanish to get by, but it is much more comfotable and easy when someone uses English with you, or a sign or ad is translated into your own language.  That's the main reason why I think we should be putting more into Spanish, not less.  Besides that, I feel Spanish is much better than English and everyone deserves the right to speak whatever the hell they want.  We have translators for a reason.

Don't be so sure.  There are racists and Islamophobes in both parties; it's just that the Democrats like to make louder noises saying that they aren't.

No

That would be racist, and I mean a real racists

Official language?  Really?

I suppose Christianity is the official religion as well.

And miss out on delicious Arabic, Turkish, and Persian foods? No. The question's kind of silly, because it would imply that I was prejudiced against a significant portion of my family.

I wouldn't boycott a business for the sole reason of it being owned by a Muslim, but if I had another, valid cause to want to boycott the business, the ownership being Muslim [or any other religion] wouldn't stop me.

I wouldn't boycott a business if it was owned by a muslim. Likewise with any other religion, even if they were a Scientologist.

Well, I'd certainly boycott a business owned by a Scientologist if that business was the Church of Scientology. Tongue

Roll Eyes
-----------------------

Just to provide the context in which this poll was made:

Would you boycott a business if it was owned by a fundamentalist christian?

Would you boycott a business if it owned by a communist?

Would you boycott companies for advertising in Spanish?

Would you boycott a business if it paid women less than men for equal work?

Would you boycott a business if it didn't sell to the unemployed?

Would you boycott a business if it was........

I have a suspicion of which Democrat voted "Yes", but I have no idea on the Republican.

Just trying to gauge the level of anti-Muslim sentiment on this forum...

You are right.  The anti-Muslim sentiment is unreasonably high on this forum.  (though through voters, nobody's that extreme, yet...)

Well, if you try to tell someone they hate Moslems when they just insist that they don't like them or wish they would behave, you may get results a little skeewed. The LAST thing we need right now is a hatred of Moslems.

Definitely not, in answer to the question

A few assaults on Sikhs, hindus etc happened after 9/11 because people thought they were muslim.

It might be difficult to assess who is muslim, afterall, you can be white and islamic.

Now there is a question...

the people who answered 'no', would you shop there is the owners were white and muslim?

Most Arab restaurants in the country are not ran by Muslims (even assuming most are even ran by Arabs at all). The vast majority of Arab-Americans are Christian.
