I would probably run away to another country, but considering if I had to rank the senators I'd put Chaffee around 95th worst and Menendez 99th or 100th I'd say Chafee.

I think a conservative 3rd party would arise and I'll throw an interesting ticket of John Kyl/Tim Pawlenty

Most Dems abandon Menendez fearing that spliting between Chafee and Menendez would allow the 3rd party to carry a lot of states

Chafee wins

i would vote for Chafee without a second thought and I think he would destroy Menendez. Chafee would spend a lot of time in the Northeast, because that would be the only competitive area.

Chafee wins the EC 520-18, and the PV 59%-40%.

Depends entirely on the office.  Party loyalty forces me to go for Menendez in an election to congress, I'd absolutely support Chafee in a gubernatorial race, and for president I'd be undecided/lean Chafee.

Clearly Linc.

Even with his flaws, and they are too many to enumerate, Linc is preferable to anyone Corzine would favor and appoint.

Chafee is superior in many, many ways.  I'd vote for him over that sleazebag in a heartbeat.

One on one Chafee might even take MA or would stand a fighting chance in VT, and could pull 40% in DC

I agre with this completely. In the Senate, the majority is too important, so party affiliation matters a lot. On the basis of issues alone, I'd be for Chafee.

I doubt it. MA, VT, and DC are all highly partisan rather than highly liberal. Which is the only reason I gave them to Menendez.

Free from the chains of partisanship, I need not worry of party attacks when I vote for:

Talk about a race I'd gladly not vote in but if it came down to it, I'd go with Chafee over the piece of slime.

For Prez, Chaffee because I think he would do a better job. For Congress, Menedez, because I'd be voting for a Democratic majority, which is more important than the individual member.

Menendez. Chafee, though least bad of the Republicans, is still a Republican.
