If only Roy Barnes had left the state flag as it was, things might have been very, very different for Georgia Democrats

While Perdue fought a campaign pledging to let the citizens determine the state flag, which he did, the flag of 1956-2001 wasn't even an option

That said, I much like the Georgia state flag as it is today

Nevertheless, I felt the pain of Georgia electing its first Republican governor in 130 years like a stake through my heart

The fact that Georgia wanted to keep the stars and bars that badly really tells you a lot about the MAJORITY of voters there (I apoligize in advance to anyone this offends)

Only slightly; they would still have lost the legislature I think.
