I remember back in 2003 or so when Riley was being attacked by his own party for trying to raise taxes. At the time I felt sorry for him and it seemed he was a lame duck. But suddenly everything is okay for him, I wonder why.

Is Lucy Baxley a bad candidate or is any Democrat doomed in this state barring a scandal or something like that? I don't know much about Baxley but she seems okay.

But since the legislature is a Democratic one, I think he won't be blamed for the raise in taxes, the Dem congress was the one who did it by the Alabama voters.
