I'll take Warner in the No. 1 or 2 slot.

You pervert.

Surprise Surprise. Warner will make a fantastic Veep for the Dems as it will poise them to win tougher states like VA, NM, IA, and maybe even MO, without giving too much power to the right wing of the party at the same time.

Edwards will make a fantastic Veep for the Dems as it will poise them to win tougher states like VA, NM, IA, and maybe even MO, without giving too much power to the right wing of the party at the same time.

... depending on who is at the top of the ticket on both sides, of course.  After all, John Edwards was placed on the 2004 ticket for much the same reasons you gave, and they still lost all of those states.

Question:  What has a governor been nominated as VP?

Off the top of my head; Spiro Agnew, Calvin Coolidge, Earl Warren.  As Phil already said, Nelson Rockefeller was appointed.
