Governors, here is the census map from the October Federal Elections for use in creating a new district map.

Citizens, there is a separate thread for you to make comments and suggestions. Please leave this thread for the governors.

*brandishes Broom of Justice (tm)*

I'll start contributing more fully on Monday, but for now I'll be satisfied heckling other Governors Smiley

Hmmm.

I've always thought it was strange that MD was in the MidEast but not DE.

Why look everyone, it's another irridentialist Midwest map!

And, what's over here?  My goodness, it's a map that keeps enough regions intact that it should pass that incidentally keeps the Midwest in one district and divides the South up a lot!

(Governors of the Northeast and Mideast: I kindly request you ignore the District of Columbia, Delaware, and New Jersey)

I also introduce the following maps into discussion:

Apparently we really need to hurry this up.  Let's have one more day to submit any more maps we wish to and then hold a preliminary vote to winnow it down to, say, two or three.

How about each Governor submit one map within the next 24 hours and we will say "approve" or "disapprove" for each, and the one with the most approves will be the final map. A tie-breaker can be held if necessary.

I propose this one.

District 1 - Orange (13 voters)
District 2 - Yellow (12 voters)
District 3 - Red (11 voters)
District 4 - Blue (11 voters)
District 5 - Green (11 voters)

I vote disapprove of both of the previous maps.  Though they're both decent (Jesus does an admirable job making his crazy, in fact), their districts are not as balanced as possible, which I believe is the point of redistricting.

I officially propose this map:

It's a bit less hypocritical than my other map, and is ideally balanced (or else I'd've probably introduced one of the maps made by another forum member Tongue)

^ You make a valid point. By switching WV and MD, they are ideally equal now.

District 1 - Orange (12 voters)
District 2 - Yellow (12 voters)
District 3 - Red (12 voters)
District 4 - Blue (11 voters)
District 5 - Green (11 voters)

This is my last idea

Each D has 11 with the exception of the the New 4 which has 12 (I think)

I think its time for a drastic change:

No district has less than 11 or more than 12

Okay, looks like we have the five proposals.

1) by FezzyFestoon

2) by ilikeverin

3) by Jesus
District 1 - Orange (12 voters)
District 2 - Yellow (12 voters)
District 3 - Red (12 voters)
District 4 - Blue (11 voters)
District 5 - Green (11 voters

4) by Mike Naso
D1 (PINK): 11 voters
D2 (GREEN): 10 voters
D3 (YELLOW): 10 voters
D4 (BLUE): 13 voters
D5 (RED): 12 voters

5) by polnut

Okay, so vote approve or disapprove for all five. Maybe try and give at least three approves. Tongue
