most folks dont know that mondale made a brief run for the presidency in 1976.

Didn't Mondale pull out early in 1976 because of a lack of desire for the top job and something about not wanting to spend time in Holiday Inns along the campaign trail?

i think so.

people also forget that a young loyd bentsen also briefly ran for the nomination in 1976.
