Rather than me listing the potential candidates, I leave it to you to write in your choice. ( This also avoids the perils of electronic voting:) )

Please tell us why you like your candidate.

Ron Paul for me. He is solidly pro-gun and a believer in more freedom and less government. He also opposes the Iraq war.

He would be fine with me as well. He is 73, however.

Even dead he would be better than Hil, Gore, McCain, and most of the others who seem to be in the running. Smiley

Ron Paul would be ideal. However, for realities sake, I am placing my efforts with Rudy Giuliani.

Paul's old, hate to say it but it diminishes chances of him running

Let's see

From Democrats:
Bill Richardson-fiscally responsible, pro-gun, hasn't done much that would piss me off-meaning better than 99% of the Democrats

From Republicans:
Tom Tancredo-fiscally responsible, against big government (he did say that we don't need any new laws regarding immigration if the current ones were enforced)
Mark Sanford-is pretty libertarian in ideology, fiscally responsible, anti-pork (pretty funny story about being anti-pork if you wiki him)

From Libertarians:
Gary Nolan-persuasive, good choice for 2004, but the LP convention that year was poorly done ( I do disapprove of that)
Micheal Cloud-also seems persuasive and optimistic
(being a libertarian, I'm not worried about their veiws so much, I'm more worried about how well they can get the libertarian message across and deliver votes

Ron Paul would be my top pick.

Jim Gilchrist was on my list, but he has returned to the Republicans.

Also, Andrew Napolitano would be good, though I think he would actually better on the Supreme Court than as President.

I like Pat Buchanan but after 2000 run with the Reform Party, I don't see him running again.

Bob Barr who just joined the LP would also be on my list.

I'd agree with Bloomberg. Ron Paul is too old.

I would support a particular individual over a collective or company presidency because then at least I'll know who to hate.

Possibly I should rephrase the question; Why do you like your candidate?

Your namesake was not nearly as anti-gun as you.

From the Secret Life of Walter Mitty;

"This is my Webley-Vickers 50.80," he said calmly. An excited buzz ran around the courtroom. The Judge rapped for order. "You are a crack shot with any sort of firearms, I believe?" said the District Attorney, insinuatingly. "Objection!" shouted Mitty's attorney. "We have shown that the defendant could not have fired the shot. We have shown that he wore his right arm in a sling on the night of the fourteenth of July." Walter Mitty raised his hand briefly and the bickering attorneys were stilled. "With any known make of gun," he said evenly, "I could have killed Gregory Fitzhurst at three hundred feet with my left hand."

Because Russ Feingold is right on the issues more often than just about anyone and I trust him to run the ship honestly and transparently as humanly possible.

Bill Richardson

Has been a Congressman, Ambassador, Secretary of Energy, and Governor (in other words, he's familiar with everyone's job).  He's more than ready to deal with immigration issues.  In Congress he focused on foreign policy and personally negotiated the release of US scientists captured by Saddam.

In his first year as Gov of New Mexico he proposed and passed state tax cuts to promote growth.  He also made New Mexico the first state to provide life insurance for active duty National Guardsmen.  He's partnered with private enterprises to expand and improve New Mexico's infrastructure.

He's likable, he's electable, and for God's sake the man has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize several times!

i'm glad you see it my way. you have obviously seen Team America: World Police, where they display the duo's surprisingly accurate depiction of what the world i like TWO YEARS LATER:
*North Korea has nukes
*Celebrities who don't know anything abot geopolitics are trying to tell us to get out of Iraq
*We are having to play world policeman to combat terrorism
