Good for you. Neither have I.

I don't really think either is worth the while, considering what other things there are in life, but if I had to watch one of them I would pick Rocky which at least some people find good. Rambo...ugh.

Rambo dialog sucks (except for the Russian guy).  Rocky dialog is classic!

Paulie: [talking about Adrian] You like her?
Rocky: Sure, I like her.
Paulie: What's the attraction?
Rocky: I dunno... she fills gaps.
Paulie: What's 'gaps'?
Rocky: I dunno, she's got gaps, I got gaps, together we fill gaps.

---

[Rocky and Gazzo steps out of the car for a talk]
Gazzo: [upset] How come you didn't break this guy's thumb like I told ya?
Rocky: Well, how did you know I didn't...
Gazzo: You don't think I hear things? Did I give you a job this morning or I didn't, huh?
Rocky: Yeah.
Gazzo: So why didn't you break his thumb like I told ya? When you don't do what I tell you to, you make me look bad, Rock.
Rocky: [trying to come up with an excuse] I figured - Look, I figured if I break the guy's thumb, he gets laid off, right? Then he can't make...
Gazzo: [cuts Rocky off] Yeah, well don't figure - Let me do the figurin', okay, Rock? From here on in, just let me do the figurin', you know? These guys think we're runnin' some kind of charity or somethin'. That they can get off light. From here on in, do what I tell you to do, because it's bad for my reputation, you understand? You got - you got it, Rock?
Rocky: I got it.
[Gazzo walks back towards the car]
Rocky: Hey, how do you spell "Del Rio"?
Gazzo: [angrly] Look it up in the dictionary, Rock!

---

Reporter: Where did you get the name, "The Italian Stallion"?
Rocky: Oh I made that up one night while I was eating dinner...I just want to say hi to my girlfriend, OK? Yo, Adrian! It's me, Rocky.

Hate to say it, but I am prejudice against anyone who would think Rambo is better than Rocky.  Rambo is cool for an action movie, but Rocky I is simply a great movie.

And, actually, First Blood Part 1 is a much better movie than Part II (Rambo).

The only Rocky movie I've seen is the first one, and I've heard that the series just kinda dies from movies III-V. Rambo is mindless fun, but the first Rocky is a classic.

Definitely Rocky- it's actually a drama. I don't find Rambo inspiring or truly heroic.

Rocky is entertaining. Rambo is just bad 80's cheese (besides First Blood, which is actually a somewhat good film).

I like them both, but Rocky wins hands down.  Better story, better charecters, better dialog (as jmf pointed out), more motivational, I get into it more.

Stallone= terrible actor, unless he is playing either Rocky, Rambo or the guy in Cliffhanger, but he is a brillant writter, and that is why Rocky is so good.

Brilliant writer sounds a little over the top to me...I think one should have written at the very least a novel or two before being termed a brilliant writer.

Brilliant screenwriter... its a different gift.  He manages to convey a lot of meaning through simple words, which is very hard to do.  He can write the way people acctually talk and still make you feel like something important is happening.

Well, I haven't seen any of his movies so I don't really now. I doubt it's as good as some of the screenplays I've come into contact with though.
