1. Place my 3 new battalions in Texas.
2. Attack Texas->Louisiana->Arkansas->Oklahoma as long as I have 3 battalions to attack with and can leave 2 behind in each State.
3. Await further orders.

using same ROE as before, attack, Oklahoma-> Colorado -> Kansas.

If I take Colorado but not Kansas, then free move any battalions above 2 Colorado -> Oklahoma.

In either case, end turn.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Ernest's mission is the one that requires you to put 2 or more battalions in 20-some states.

Or maybe that's what I want you to think.

It's clear that they aren't called the Fighting Illini for nothing.

1. Place all 6 battalions in Missouri.
2. So long as I can attack with 3 battalions, attack Missouri-> Tennessee -> Mississippi leaving only 1 battalion in Missouri and awaiting orders as to how many to advance into Mississippi.

Ernest, don't you remember the last time someone attacked from the South into the Southeast? LOL

Good luck on your roll.

I remember. That's why I started with Tennessee instead of Mississippi. Wink

By my count I get 7 reinforcements.

1. Put all 7 in New Mexico.

2.Attack as long as I have at least 2 battalions to attack with, taking into account the units I definitely want left behind and not used to attack.
A. NM -> AZ leaving 1 in NM
B. AZ -> NV leaving 2 in AZ
C. NV -> UT leaving 2 in NV

3.  If I get all the way to Utah without losing any battalions, attack Idaho from Utah as long as I have more battalions attacking than Hugh has defending.

4. Tactical move 1 battalion MS -> TN

First let me turn in this set of RISK cards:

That's 2 extra battalions in each of Arizona, Kansas, and Nevada plus 10 battalions added to the reinforcements for this turn.

Now for those 21 battalions, place 4 in Nevada and 17 in Tennessee.

Attack Arizona -> California ; Kansas > Nebraska ; and Tennessee -> Virginia so long as I have more battalions attacking than are defending on both attacks, moving all available battalions into the target if successful.

Await further orders.

Ernest, could you clarify your 'AZ -> CA' order for me?  When you said to attack only so long as you have more attacking dice than the defense, did you want to include that too?  Only because it'd be a 3 vs. 3 battle, hence it isn't possible.  The use of the word 'both' was slightly confusing.

Granted, he has 3 battalions there, but he only gets to roll at most 2 dice on defense.  That why I said as long as I had more attacking dice not attacking battalions.

In addition to the AZ-> CA attack add:
VA-> WV -> KY so long as I have at least 2 dice to attack with after leaving 2 battalions behind in VA and WV.

Await further orders.

Attack NV -> OR do or die, moving in the minimum, then tactical move 2 battalions KY -> TN

So losing 10 battalions in Virginia wasn't enough?  I had to alter my plans as a result of that debacle.

I think I'm missing a card-could you please PM me the cards I have?

You should have only 2, you failed to get a card in Round 2 when your armies did as badly in Maryland as mine later did in Virginia.  That bay of Chesapeake breeds very valiant creatures. Their mastiffs are of unmatchable courage.

Ehm...why isn't anyone dealing with Ernest, given how he he controls half the map and is going to win with tremendous ease unless someone stops him? Tongue

My guess is that they hope to win by accomplishing their mission before I can win.  It is something I have to guard against.  Indeed that's why last turn I didn't just concentrate my forces in the west, last turn as it would have mission of conquering another player easier to accomplish if everyone was lumped together in the east. I suspect Bullmoose's attack into Minnesota was either an indication that his mission is to eliminate Gabu or a diversion to make others think that was the case.

No, not afraid, just convinced that if a RISK card was your only goal that it made more sense to go after Minnesota instead of North Dakota.  Maybe if you and Hugh made a deal about who'd get North Dakota, but that would be really paranoid of me to think, wouldn't it.  Of course, as I keep telling those nice young men in their clean white coats, just because one is paranoid doesn't mean that people aren't out to get you.

Time for some orders that I expect will give people a good idea of what my mission is.

Place 1 reinforcement in Nevada and 11 in West Virginia.

Attack, do-or-die.
NV -> OR -> ID -> MT

WV -> PA -> NY -> NJ  -> DE

Damn. I was positioned to make a run at Gabu too.

My packet of risk cards was ready. Gah

If I had thought I wasn't going to be able to take Hugh out, I would have gone after WY, SD, and MN instead, which would have forced you to go through MY and PA to accomplish your mission and denied you the reserves in Minnesota with which to attack, so even with a RISK card set, it would have tough for you to have done so.  If either you or MAS had taken a state from me in the Southwest last round, I would not have had enough armies with which to launch a a successful attack on Hugo as that would have cost me 4 reinforcements.
