Hey, it's a combo of heavily Democratic cities and light blue Democratic Eastern Seaboard areas!

Insteresting map, especially considering that of all those red counties only about 3-4 of them actually ever vote Democrat. You should see the registration map of many other southern states besides Maryland.

Yeah, Bush carried 10 Democratic counties, and Kerry only carried six.

In North Carolina, Bush carried 50 Democratic counties, and Kerry carried 20.

I'd be interested in seeing voter registration breakdowns in other states.

Even Maryland has quite a few "Dixiecrats", though they're not nearly as influential as elsewhere in the South.
