Among Democrats, Sen. Barack Obama attracts stronger support from young adults than from any other age group.
Among Republicans, polling indicates young adults are slightly more supportive of Sen. John McCain than are older voters.
In general election match ups, 18-29 year olds preferred all three Democratic front-runners over Guiliani and McCain, (see tables below) indicating that young adults continue to lean Democratic as they did in 2006 -- although not by as large a margin.

I think that tells you something about the difference in mindset between younger Republicans and younger Democrats. The younger democrats are more youthful and liberal and less caring about "experience" and "judgement" and prefer style over substance, while the younger Republicans don't care that McCain is 40-50 years older than them, they prefer substance over style.

Or they just support their party's prospective nominees...

Or it could be that on one hand Obama's message appeals to younger democrats more than hillary's, and on the other hand younger Republicans have no idea who the other republican candidates are.

Absolutely; young Democrats are smart and young Republicans are stupid. Tongue

Yes, I support someone who was always against the Iraq war, and has perhaps more on the issues part of their website than any other candidate, because I like substance free candidates.

That's not necessarily the case. Obama has substance, it's just that he also has the style to match it (unlike previous liberal "idols" - and I use this term very loosely -  like Dean or Gore, who had the arguments but had no idea how to present them).

That aside, what substance does McCain have? He changes his message depending on whoever he speaks to. Seriously, he makes John Kerry look like the picture of consistency.
