Are there state exit polls available for 2000? The CNN page can't be accessed currently, but when I was able to I noticed that a lot of results seem to be screwed up.

http://www.ropercenter.uconn.edu/elections/presidential/presidential_election_2000.html

And go to "State Election Day Exit Polls".

(Note that the polls are not in percentages but in crosstabs with raw numbers, you have to recalculate the numbers to get percentages.)

Florida 2000 Exit Poll:

Gore (D): 53.0%
Bush (R): 43.3%
Nader (G): 1.6%
Buchanan (R): 0.5%
Others: 0.8%
Blank: 0.8%

Huge Bush election rigging ...

The TN Exit Poll:

Gore: 54.1%
Bush: 43.2%

WTF ?

The file says these numbers are already weighted. Or were 2000 exits really that fu**ed up ?

I`ve found the ABC Exit Poll page from 2000 as well:

And here the FL Exit Poll is:

Bush: 49.2%
Gore: 47.9%

TN Exit Poll:

Bush: 51.0%
Gore: 46.2%

http://abcnews.go.com/sections/politics/2000vote/general/exitpoll_hub.html

So I guess the link above from the Roper Center is using the unweighted crosstabs ...

Thanks. The Virginia exit poll is interesting--Bush got 60% of the white vote, the same that McCain got when he lost the state.

Thanks. The Virginia exit poll is interesting--Bush got 60% of the white vote, the same that McCain got when he lost the state.

It shows the increasing power of minorities in the state.

Gore got 37% of Whites, Kerry 32% and Obama 39%.

Gore got 44%, Kerry 46% and Obama 53%.

Based on this, Kerry did also relatively well with VA minorities when it comes to turnout ...
