Man, it's too bad we voted out those Republicans. We know for sure they'd definitely have health care reforms planned.

Well our veto proof supermajority in Connecticut has us on the path to universal healthcare here...

That said non-binding resolutions passing > GOP filibuster of any healthcare reform.

that is a lame excuse.  'oh the republicans will filibuster'.  'oh bush will veto it'

let them filibuster!  let bush veto!  that can only help the democrats.  let the american public see who is fighting for health care and who isnt.

(by the way i dont necessarily think bush would automatically veto health care reform measures.  ive noticed one thing about bush, he tends to sign every bill, even those he professes not to like.)

the plan sounds good.  ive some problems with how it is financed.

a 3.3% payroll tax on employers is fine (a little high).  but what about employees?  i think that they should have to pay something, since everyone will benefit from the system.

i oppose ending the bush tax cuts.

im confused as to what he means by a 5% health tax on the top 5% of income earners.  it sounds punitive.

what about raising the national tax on tobacco and alcohol?  he doesnt mention that.
