We won't laugh if you ease up on your rhetoric and discuss a topic calmly.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people like to come into a forum and let everyone know they are irrelevant.

I'll try to ease up.  I do hold strong opinions.

No one likes to have their ideas laughed at.  And one can only hope that the old timers will have tolerance for the fresh voices to get their legs under them.

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly some can reach for characterizations and name-calling when they are unable to come up with a cogent argument for rebuttal.

Back to the subject, Bush is doomed.  There is no way he is taking Florida without resorting to some underhanded dirty trick.  In today's world, that is getting harder and harder to pull off, precisely because of forum sites like this and alternative media that does not filter and control what we are allowed to see and discuss.

There is going to be no dirty tricks in Florida.  I bet that Bush will win it fair and square by 1-3%.  If Mel Martinez gets the nod from the GOP for the senate race, it should help hispanic tournout.  I think it is shameful to accuse the GOP of being the party of lies and dirty tricks.  Bush did not steal Florida last time.  He merely won by a tiny margin.

2000 Florida "dirty tricks" all began with the type of ballot used . . . designed and approved by the democratic body.  And which counties were the punch-card ballots used?  Prodominantly Democratic ones.

Or maybe it was the recount, initiated by the Democrats in selective counties within Florida, and not the state as a whole (I love that part when they claim that this time "every vote will count" this time . . . apearantly it didn't bother them last time).

However, no one seems to remember the "chaos" of the 1996 election in Florida when Dole sufferred the same fate as Gore.  Over 14,000 ballots for Dole were tossed out due to mis-voting on the punch-card ballots in Florida.  Of course, that wasn't enough to cause a controversy over, since Dole lost the state by 300,000 votes.

So please refrain from labelling Florida as "Republican dirty tricks."  It just shows a lack of knowledge behind the situation.

Gore took it to the Wahhpreme court and lost straight up. Get over it...Democrats are the ones known for stealing elections. And I am offended that you decided to attack Nixon. He was a EXCELLENT president ifyou set Watergate to the side. BTW,49 out of 50 agreed. Smiley

Senator States Right - I must first disagree with all your possible maps fr Bush to win.

If Bush wins Minnesota or Michigan. It will be landslide victory. But i think most people would admit that those two states are more solid for Kerry than they were for Gore.

With Iowa and Oregan i expect Kerry to win. The nadar affect will be less and the tag "a vote for Nadar is a vote for bush" will stick in Oregan. Florida I`m not sure. Nadar may still get the 1-2% of the vote.

Another thing to consider is that Bush is defending his states like Ohio and Missouri. Both parties have spent the most money here but these are must win Republican states. Kerry doesnt really campaign in Minnesota, Wisconsin or Michigan compared to Bush but he still has made no ground. The writings on the wall. Bush has to win Florida

Bush is doing well in Minnesota and Michigan and they are a LOT closer this time around then they were for Gore. New Jersey is very very close as well. Deny it if you will but the fact is Bush will crack 350 EVS this year.
